Technically, there is no issue. The MLM Act is pretty simple by any standard. You have the products, you are in legal business as far as the law is concerned.
A lot of people discuss the strengths and weakness, or the seemingly illegailty of the marketing plans. The laws has not address this issue too.
The only things that are successful so far are probably the claims for refunds from the companies or through CASE.
Otherwise, in summary, we are screwed. The wonders of capitalism i guess -

Probably most people who have read/viewed this forum (the 20k+ views, not necessarily those who have posted a reply), sifted through it, and gone through it with a neutral perspective, like me, and are here for one reason:
They have probably heard of NTI through "word of mouth", heard the 101 reasons why it would work for them, paused to think before expending any commitment/capital, and still have 101 questions in their minds about any possible loopholes, fineprint, or hidden clauses that NTI might have. I've read through practically the whole thread, and what really is valuable are the various experiences had by those who made their experiences heard,
and not the flaming, the degratory remarks, etc. (although it's the action that catches the eye, they do not provide any real value).
I've come to realise those who really do well in NTI belong to 2 categories, either those who are good at talking (salespeople who can twist perspectives to make even the ugliest person sound like the most beautiful) and those who really believe in the system (and have thus been brainwash certified).
I do not think that NTI is a complete failure, I believe it can work, but it really isn't for everyone, especially me.
I got to know NTI through a friend, and he was really good at talking me into NTI, he talked about networkingpeoplenetworking, and that I could learn business much easier with NTI. The only reason why I bothered listening
was because 1. he was a friend & 2. I had an interest in doing business.
But I am far from convinced because NTI is a system whereby, if you don't get people into it, it won't work for you. And I could not be bothered to spend so much time convincing others to join NTI, like he did me.
If I was really so good at talking, I'd have joined an insurance company or gone to do sales, but I don't have a knack for such things.
So, he has invited more people to try to convince me, and yes, I'm still sitting on the fence. I hope that those who have had good or bad experiences with NTI as managers especially, could come forth and share, to better inform people like me who have clouds of uncertainty hovering above.
Yes, nothing is guaranteed, no $$/returns are ever guaranteed for those who do not truly believe in something, and even if they do, it doesn't necessarily mean returns as well. There's always 2 sides to a coin... -
My advice is, if you are not convinced by them, dont join. If you are, join and experience it. If you find the experience disappointing, thats the way of life i guess.
If you manage to earn, then i can only congratulate you. -
i can only say they promised things if i manage to do something, when i accomplished my mission(target), they peng wei.. i don't want to name names, but you people (yes i mean you people) know it yourself, don't you feel any guilt or anything? hai i'm at the losing end they can do what they want, sick and tired, and anyway... currently.. there's probably only 2 people really making money in nti i think one is david the other is jackie lo.. go ask the other brms if they are really making money... haha talk so much abt making money, end up even u at the top also cannot earn moer than 3-4k... i think some 2k also very hard...

mlm is not really a stable job, should not even be considered a career. just like what the above said... how long can u survive with that kind of job... is it enough for u to purchase house, car, get married, have kids? if u are a businessman who owns an mlm company, yah why not... but if u are just an mlm sales person, how long can u last? u dont even own the company... when u are gone, the company is still there, all it has to do is replace you with someone else... as long as u are not the owner of the mlm company... there's very little security.

of cos everything is not stable, its just which is more stable... a full time job right.. worse to worse lah.. earn $800, remember ar.. its the worse... NTI right, worse is Lose money, and the best still lose the best in the working class.. so please... u dun try to continue psycho la... u making how much?? you yourself know, you can lie to everyone, but you cannot lie to yourself, and if u earning that 5k or smt.. ask yourself... its at the expense of how many people?? pls i would like to see your reply...

yea, actuallly nti ok, its the management, they only care about their self.. bloody scumbags.. keep increasing the price cos tehy wanna earn more, hai.. dunno why i still go down and brainwash my agents and prospect i think i'm an asshole, i dun believe in it i still talk until so power. ARGH i'm going to hell! i wan to get out! but all my previous effort will be wasted, i cannot say y i'm still staying, cause they will know who i am and will do smt to me,but.. haiya DAMN!

.....hmm i didnt noe this topic went on fer two years le!.....i read thru each n every post....for three hrs straight!..........
y did i bother to read?....coz i was recently approached by a fren who is in NTI.....
fer me one fine day my fren said he wanted to meet me.....he didnt told me wad....he say juz meet fer dinner......after dat den the "true colour" will show le.......
same as some of u all....listened to those stuff, like the binary plan larh, how wonderful it is larh, wadever larh.....
was reallie tempted to join at dat time, but no money.......but dey say money dey can lend.....but i told dem i wanna tink abt it first, ask my parents or wad....in the end dey let me go, unwillingly.......
well went home, thought abt it, but decided to research a bit on NTI.....den was brought here.......n discovered so much abt nti......i was actually neutral abt joining...but after reading the forum decided nt to join afterall.......
coz i dun feel gd abt it.........where got make so much money sooo easily?....lawrence did tok abt legal actions or whether the company is lawful or nt......haha i rather nt get involve to play safe.....i hav my dreamz.....dun wan to hav police records......
but one thing to note though.....dey r damn persuadsive.......... -

Let's put it this way, if you feel that you can sleep easy making money by trading in your relationship with friends, being branded as a "fool", "idiot" or simply a bloody sheep by believing that you can strike it rich by following a SYSTEM, by all means go ahead, no one is stopping you. Just remember, your reputation sticks. People will shun you, look down on you and treat you like the pariah of the society for your mere involvement. The question is can you handle it?
For those looking to become "somebody" or become successful, one word of advice, The only common trait amongst all the successful individuals is that they all do things differently. There is no handbook that guarantees you success. I never believed that doing what everyone else is doing can bring you success. What's the definition of success? Having loads of cash? Maybe by following the system blindly like herded sheep will get you somewhere. But let's face it, the only time you are going to appear in the papers is between sports and money sections if your entire career's going to be MLM-centric. There are options, it's simply a matter of what you are comfortable doing. Success is not measured by cash it's measured by respect. Oh, of course, at the end of the day, you can just hug your sorry self to sleep saying that everyone else is jealous of your new found wealth.
Any self respecting entrepreneur will turn his nose up on the low life peddlers doing MLM
