Will you believe a man who had conned millions of dollars using different project for the last 5 years? Have you heard of NOP? Have you heard of NOP boss called James Phang? Do you know that this Emcon project is from James Phang? Just wait and see how much money he can con this time?Originally posted by jonzibonzi:Can Emcom really work? Please post with real reasons thanks
Gulf war -.- what an analogy.Originally posted by P-K4:well been reading the posts for quite a while..omg this is looks like gulf war..haha
oh personally i think the idea of the emcon project is quite fresh is interesting.actually quite good.
but i think no matter how good an idea is, run by the wrong people its still going to fail.
sorry but can someone tell me the relationship of nti, emcon and this sunshine
company? perhaps being a old dog in biz i can share some pointers.
Declared interest: Am in networking and other biz.
Please don't make such comments. Not every networker like to flame people.Originally posted by laurence82:Same round of NTI agents coming in with intention to flame again

You are very cleverOriginally posted by LegacyMan:Please don't make such comments. Not every networker like to flame people.
You will have a merchant agreement with sunshine alliance and a partner agreement with Emcom.Originally posted by P-K4:so if i invest in the taichung project, does it mean i am having a contract agreement with NTI? EGA? Sunshine? or Emcom? it does matter a lot cos if any problems does araise and my agreement is not with emcom, i cant sue 3rd party
One question comes to mind. Are those agreements drafted with regards to Singapore Laws, Malaysian ones or Taiwanese ones?Originally posted by LegacyMan:You will have a merchant agreement with sunshine alliance and a partner agreement with Emcom.
The Emcom agreement is binded by taiwan law and sunshine is malaysia law. The company is coming up with a overall agreement by singapore law.Originally posted by Nikonman:One question comes to mind. Are those agreements drafted with regards to Singapore Laws, Malaysian ones or Taiwanese ones?
Each of those countries have different commercial/consumer laws and protection rendered to consumers are very differentIn the event of any legal issues, its hard for us to claim from Taiwanese companies
Second question. The techinical capabilities mentioned in this broad framework requires tremendous R and D efforts. A simple check would have yield results that some would be world breaking feats. Has the company gotten any patents or in process patents for any Broadband wireless technology claimed by the website? Can anyone highlight any R and D activities and patents which will make the company a world leader in Wireless Broadband technology and hence would be worth billions with those 20 year old patents they might have?
cheers and have a nice day everyone![]()
I see. Thanks for the clarifications. Are you familiar with Taiwanese, Malaysian and Singapore laws(Business ones like fair trade and consumer protection)?Originally posted by LegacyMan:The Emcom agreement is binded by taiwan law and sunshine is malaysia law. The technology wise, emcom's technology partner is Taiyee who has proven track record of build TamShui and GaoXiong Wireless. WeMax.net.tw is another ISP company similar to Emcom working together with Taiyee to build up Gao Xiong Wiress Infrastructure while we are taichung. You can email them to clarify. The Emcom COO is the CEO of Bluegine which is quite a establish technology company in singapore. They even went to the IDA's final selection of the wiress@singapore operation.
I am not good in business law, therefore i can't help you with those consumer right issues.Originally posted by Nikonman:I see. Thanks for the clarifications. Are you familiar with Taiwanese, Malaysian and Singapore laws(Business ones like fair trade and consumer protection)?
How are these agremments different from each other? Which agreements gave the best consumer protection (80-100% money back?) or none at all? Do they issue shares? Have AGMs and EOGMs? What's their limits? Any venue to check cashflow situations (financial report)? Need to know how much they spend on infrasture, R and D as compared to marketing/PR/Sales.
Can you find out the patents under Emcom or Bluegine? Do they have any in the first place? If they dont have those patents, I think its best not to make claims on their websites. It can be misleading to people not familiar with wireless technology. Just say that they have done this, dont that...succeed this, succeed that and fail this fail that can already...This will be their track record....
Being the CEO of blugine and COO of Emcom, does he have any conflicts of interests? Is he on the board of directors as well (meaning he can move funds in and out between the 2 companies)? Sorry watch too much Taiwanese Drama seriel around 4.30 pm everyday...so got to worry a bit la
Cheers
Finally, some body who knows their stuff on Proper Investing, but there are a lot of investing pointers to actually look out for when investing.Originally posted by halth:Hey good to see a discussion going on here. My friend approached me too but I need these questions answered but he couldn't answer me.
So can anyone enlighten me on these issues?
1. From my research, the company that won the wireless contract in TaiChung is this company called APTG. Many online and trade publications have verified this fact and their link is also present in the official M-Taichung website (http://www.m-taichung.net.tw/).
Thus is emcom/tayee in anyway affiliated to them? Apparently their chosen provider is Proxim (http://www.govtech.net/dcarchive06/story.php?id=101633).
2. I've been shown the ISP License and proposal for the project. But what I really want to see is the official contract that says that Emcom (or its partners) has won the TaiChung wireless contract. That they haven't been able to produce.
Has anyone seen these? These are the 2 main points that are bothering me from investing inside.
1. Thats the company choosen by TaiChung Govt to build the wireless infrasture with them. Emcom's is a private project not aided by Govt funds. For another private wireless project in GaoXiong you can refer to wemax.net.twOriginally posted by halth:Hey good to see a discussion going on here. That's something that is really new to me.Originally posted by LegacyMan:1. Thats the company choosen by TaiChung Govt to build the wireless infrasture with them. Emcom's is a private project not aided by Govt funds. For another private wireless project in GaoXiong you can refer to wemax.net.tw
2. I think i answered both of your questions right ? Anyway we are not affiliate to APTG or Govt for the project.
If its private project where would they have agreement with govt to share with you ? If they have then they are lying.
Emcom's Wireless infrastructure will not only be earning from internet and VOIP. Other services include online advertising, IPTV, Internet CCTV etc.Originally posted by halth:That's something that is really new to me.
Everyone whom I have spoken to is under the impression that it's an officially sanctioned project, ie similar to what Singapore is doing.
Thanks for the info LegacyMan, think in the haste of getting pple into the project, many "recruiters" are often unsure of their own facts or are being mislead themselves.
On a side-note though, now with these facts, I am having serious doubts of it ever achieving that sky high ROI that it is has promised given the fact it is in direct competition with the free service that the govt is building (what i was told was that the ROI will come from the subscriptions that pple for emcom's services) and the host of other ISPs already on the market.
Also given the recent trend in the internet industry, the business model has rapidly shifted to online advertising and bundling of services as is evident in most countries. For eg TriplePlay by Comcast in the US, Singnet and Starhub bundling their internet services with cable/mobile lines, AOL and Google's shift in strategy etc. It would be hard to see that kind of money pouring in from pure subscriptions alone.
Anyone has any thoughts on this?
orh, no wonder you so super defensive in nti, so you must have invested in the investment plan as well.Originally posted by LegacyMan:Emcom's Wireless infrastructure will not only be earning from internet and VOIP. Other services include online advertising, IPTV, Internet CCTV etc.
Anyway Emcom's wireless is totally different with singapore. Wiress@Singapore is only meant for public area, which means only inceases of hot spot. Emcom's project in taiwa is build hot zone, which will include residential and public area. Anyway the APTG project wun be done until like 2 years time
So far now we are the only company build wireless infrasture in taichung, APTG has not even started yet. Other ISP companies is just normal boardband and cable alike.
If you would like to know more info, we could meet up so that i can explain in more details. Most info we have is in offline status.
Basically NTI failed to win the rights to do the wireless project in Singapore due to their limited spending power and lack of foresight (which includes planning ahead) which causes them to lose out.Originally posted by halth:That's something that is really new to me.
