I've returned to Singapore twice this year already!
It's a bumpy ride into Summer! Typical Melbourne weather - four seasons in a day. You wake up in Spring, spend a lazy Summer afternoon, enjoy the Autumn cool during dinner, and before you tuck yourself in bed, it's chilly Winter.
I've taken to folding my faux fur blanket accordian style underneath my doona so depending on the temperature, I may or may not unfold it for use! ![]()
It must be getting cold for you! When did you last return to SG?
Oh say, MG, I meant to ask you - you're not affected by the mortgage crisis, are you? I watch CBS and CNN News almost daily and I keep hearing dire news about the unemployment rates, etc. Hope all's well for you!

I think he was overfed. Octopi his size don't need to eat 8 mussels in the space of a month. His popularity killed him.

Since you're cruising into summer, can I come spend the next four months with you? I'm not looking forward to winter here.
I have not been back to Singapore since my father's passing in '08. I might make the trip next year... if I don't decide to make another jaunt over to Japan!

Fortunately, no. I'm within six months of getting my mortgage paid off anyway.
Are you any closer to buying your own house?

I dislike Summer. The heat is intense here. I suffer horrid heat rash and the heat wave is something I fear!
I think you'll like it here since you love boating and outdoor stuff.
I'm planning on heading to Japan / Korea in 2012 or 2013. I want to go on a planned tour, and then go free and easy to explore the areas less travelled. ![]()
I've read two really great books on Japan and their culture - Hokkaido Highway Blues and Sushi and Beyond. They are both available on Amazon.com although the first book goes by another name in the US. I think it's something-Buddha-something.

Wow! Good on you!
I'm not. I've had a few pretty awful things happen to me and I'm just now recuperating from the shock and picking up the pieces again.
I've had it bad the past few years but thankfully, it's now clear skies ahead!
I think getting into mortgage will have to come after I get my post-grad qualifications and driving licence. House prices here are crazy now! The Financial Review last weekend even showed three photos of houses in the US worth $1.6 million, and then they showed a modest townhouse here in Victoria at the same price, and you can see how crazily inflated the house prices are here right now. Interest rates rose, I think six times last year and this year, it's risen three times or more already. It's getting harder and harder to become a first-time homeowner here.
evening...

Good evening, LF! It's alright - your body is probably extremely tired and needed the power nap.
Take care and rest well!
