Singapore remains tops in terms of efficiency. But you know what, now that I've lived five years here, everytime I return home, I find Singapore a tad... soul-less.
Although travelling on public transport here can be dangerous, there are also nice little encounters. For eg. people always help ladies lift the baby trolleys and / or marketing trolleys, the train driver helps put out a platform for handicapped folks on motorised wheelchairs, and the old lady / gentleman sitting beside you might smile at you and strike a conversation. I was telling Pinky how I've grown to love these little things here, esp striking up conversations with pleasant strangers, hence finding Singapore soul-less on that front.

singapore is more efficient from the operator's point of view, not so much the users' though.

True... it's a utilitarian society. Or rather, a utilitarian government.
I'm used to the lifestyle here liao, where work is not the be-all and end-all. I work only four days a week now and I don't think I can ever return to the crazy Singapore rat race.

Well said. The govt does not do enough for the citizens.

Trying to survive the deep freeze of winter here, and getting really, really tired of it. Thank goodness spring is just round the corner.
How are things with you?

Nah, I'm a good cook already! Just going to take up a transition to specialty course leading to a post-grad dip.

Think only 1/4 of Victoria is flooded, mostly in the northern cities. Melbourne should be safe and my area even safer. Thanks for asking though.
