Accused 'cooked up groin injury story' (wanted female doctor) - Straits Times
IN THE trial of the man accused of masturbating in a woman doctor's consultation room, the prosecution ended its cross-examination of him yesterday by referring to his groin injury as a hoax.
Yesterday, Deputy Public Prosecutor Amarjit Singh suggested to Eng Wah Wooh, 43, that he had cooked up the story about the injury to get a woman doctor to examine his groin. Advertisement
During the examination of his groin, the DPP said, Eng had intended to ejaculate and get the doctor to look at his semen.
Eng disagreed without elaborating.
The tall, thin, bespectacled man is standing trial for insulting the modesty of the woman doctor at a Bishan clinic past midnight on June 23 last year.
He arrived there saying he had hurt his neck, shoulders and groin while on holiday in Malaysia.
Eng had earlier gone to the National University Hospital (NUH) - but left when told there was no woman doctor on duty.
In court on Thursday, Eng's explanation for his insistence on seeing a woman doctor was that, due to the nature of his injury, he had not felt comfortable being seen by a male doctor.
But yesterday, DPP Singh put it to Eng that he did not have any groin injury at all.
He had not mentioned the injury to the nurse who attended to him at NUH, the DPP said.
The woman doctor had not found anything abnormal and he had refused the medication prescribed to him.
The DPP also pointed out that Eng sought no further medical treatment for the purported injury, though the woman doctor had written him a referral note to a specialist.
Eng's conduct that night, said the DPP, clearly shows he had gone to the clinic to look for a female doctor and to misbehave.
The DPP also described Eng as having taken advantage of the woman doctor's politeness and good nature.
Careful guys, dun do anything funny in front of female doctors or even steam, cos they can charge you for outrage of modesy !
