Fren i tink u blind la... and possibly deaf... no offence but, taufik has the vocals and the look... but IMO... sly shudnt b in the finals, hell he shudnt b in the quarters as well... there are some pple better than him... i'm still surprised at the fact dat leandra and olinda didnt make it... taufik won the sg idol title. nothing is going to change that.

and i'm a chinese.
i supported taufik because he can sing much better.
can't admit that he's abit boring sometimes.
but he's not ugly.
but but but. i didnt vote la.. i dun believe in throwing my money away like this.

i dun wish to comment on his singing, esp after he sang my fave song, "it's my life".

Aiyah simply say tat all S'pore idol finalist cannot make it. This type of talent go American Idol can't even go thru the first stage.

i think taufik quite like an idol now, altho if compare to World Idols, he might not be anywhere near..
but then again, can't compare at all.. in other countries, u can afford to go full-time into music education from young and might turn out well, but if SG u do that, pple call u siao, and u end up selling tissue papers..(ok, maybe not so bad)
so imho, taufik did well,and as mentioned, he really improved and has kept consistent performances.. he deserved to win..
sly only noe how to scream, or imitate jay chou. u see which other types of songs he can manage? but i think he can do the high pitch screams in some songs pretty well.
anyway, this type of thing, how can even put racism into picture?
i think racists shld really be put in countries whr races DO matter, and see how they suffer.. they dun understand the importance and the consquences, and just give such comments.. &*(@$^ -

seems like those pple wanting taufik to win outnumbers those who want sly to win like 10 to 1 here at sgforums. i think 99.9% of sly's fan base are teen girls who are more.... visual? girls are getting really visual nowadays.... image wise sly gives pple a kind of erm.... not so refine look, while taufik like more clean. Sly has the air of an idol (spoilt or not), while taufik seems more homely, but hey, we wun want sly to disgrace the entire 4 million pple living on our island. And his dressing, his hairdo, everything just points to that.

fact is....i think there were some many times in this song alone that he went out of pitch .....so many !... unbelivable .

It's a freaking joke, that sly should rec'd any good comments at all for that song. watch the World idol today at 6.30 on chl 5. Comparing Sly to these, oh my,...like what a race loser will say : " .... cannot even see their tail light.."

One of my Aunts knew the top-guns from the recording company and she told me that they wanted Taufik, so even if he lost, he'd be guranteed a contract. Anyway Sly got one too...

SG IDOL, good voice and I can see why he won, no doubts about him, but can only sing english songs, don't think he would consider singing malay song, even he does, no market. As for english market, although its big, but you need to be either ang moh, ABC or William Hung, other than that, you can forget about it.

Don't sound so good, but his I dream is definately better than Taufik. Can sing chinese song. I know pple will say Taiwan so many singers blah blah blah, but are there many or any english singer from singapore out there who make it overseas and last? As for chinese singer, we have kit chan, tanya chua, mavis hee, sun yanzi, ah du, lin jun jie, huang yida and my fav rui en who make it big in the chinese market. Beside Sly is not bad singing chinese song so I don't see why he can't sing in taiwan -

i don't work in singtel but i can tell you all that phone voting was for show. the winner was decided before the singing started. Taufik was the only Muslim guy in the show and to let him win is a show of diplomacy that they are not discriminated against, they are not to blame for 9-11 and following events and racial harmony stuff and some other reasons. but Sly was lousier than the gal who went out before him. why? because Sly is a guy and Taufik's victory over him would be sweeter.
but all not important. taufik is better than sly and deserves to beat him -
