Secondly even if they were having affairs, not in the same house and you wouldn't know it, see the first reason.
Thirdly these women if they are really housewives tends to follow a daily pattern, wake up make breakfast, bring kids to school, go to the market buy food, come home clean the house, run errands, maybe walk the dog or cat in the afternoons meet neighbour for chit chat, fetch the kids home make dinner.
If they miss the pattern every now and then it's ok but if too often then it becomes obvious and people tends to take notice. It's not possible to keep extra martial affairs under wraps for long because things which supposed to follow a certain daily pattern suddenly stop and too many excuses appearing, next thing you know the spouse gets suspicious quarrels & fights erupt and tongues start wagging.
