I'm sure Japan isn't the only one copying, and Japan itself comes up with its own innovations, they don't just copy. Besides, it's always about innovation and improving on current technology. As far as I know, Microsoft is pretty much global. No doubt USA has been good at marketting, but if you knew how the real world worked, you would realise it's not just about where the company originated. The individual brands still rely on locals to run their operations and to push their brand name. It's still about the right expertise afterall.
And my issue is not that chinese/koreans/japanese are superior, but everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. You however, only seem to believe in a very one-sided view.
