Both men and women tend to lose hair thickness and amount as they age. Inherited or "pattern baldness" affects many more men than women. About 25% of men begin to bald by the time they are 30 years old, and about two-thirds are either bald or have a balding pattern by age 60.

I think age alone is a factor of its sensitivity to the androgens as the person grows... it is particularly non sensitive to gonadal hormones (testes) released in puberty but sensitive to another different type of gonadal hormones (adrenal glands) released after puberty... -

Common sense answer :
The length of the pubic hair is only a few centimetres so therefore its not pulled down by gravity, so how can it be straight.
Even the hair on ppl's head with similar length to pubic hair is also curly naturally.
If u worry about your pubic hair being curly, I suggest u go dab some hair gel/wax and style it whatever way u want loh.
