cycling is really good,somemore singapore not say tat big,so its possible to cycle as a mod for transport,some places,its faster to cycle than taking bus...
i cycled from newton to my last time secondary sch,acs(i) in dover road can take abt 20-25 mins,while taking bus will take 35-45 and sometimes 1hr...
but of course i wont cycle to sch i think :p
most hard core cyclist can keep pace with a bus. so you might also wanna say busses road hog then?? -
on the other hand, there are still some ass cyclist on both road and pavement

swerve here and there.. usually its this group of bmx boys in my estate.. blasting music fr some junk speakers and all.. get rid of the bike lar.. and some are just too fast!!

though contridictary from my previous posts, its true that there are alot of folks on the road who should not even consider riding on the road.
first is the cannot-be-seen.. pls get some night gear if u riding at night.. police will catch if u dun get a blinker if i m not wrong.
second is those who should still have ur trainig wheels on.. so wabbly so scarry.. and still wanna chiong road..
heard if u get knocked down at a zebra cross on a bicycle u cannot claim insurence!!! -
Cyclists are invincible! 2 reasons:
1) On the road, they expect to be treated like a motorist.
2) On the pavemment, they expect to be treated like a pedestrian.
Imagine the following scenario:
Cyclist X was cycling on the road and he took up one entire lane. He expects the cars behind him to treat him like a motorcyclist.
Then he decided to go up on the pavement and cross the zebra crossing. Now he expects the cars to give way to him like a pedestrian.
Cool isn't it?! He get's both privileges! When the traffic light shows green, he rides past it like a motorist. When the traffic light shows red, he takes the pedestrian lane and rides past it like a pedestrian. WOW! -

When u've a road bike, a pedestrian pathway is too dangerous, so you move to road; on the roads, you're definitely not as fast as cars, but there are so many lanes! Can't the cars just give way? Not as though the lane is so small that only 1 car can fit in. At least be more understanding and run on the right side (i.e. 2nd lane) of the cyclist.

Cyclists, just take care! Singaporean drivers are really really sh1t!
Eg.
Car in the next lane signalling to enter their lane = cue to speed up and close the gap, leaving the driver of the other car looking like a fool for signalling in vain.
From this, we can see that their mindset is "I dun give a sh1t about everyone else. NOBODY must 'cut the queue' and 'win' me!"

do not marginalised. i seen able bodied adults doing the same and on pavements too. look at the mrt stations where there are parking stands for bicycles, the cyclists would zoom in to park or cycle out immediately without due care to passing pedestrians
the important thing is to educate such behaviour -

It takes 2 hands to clap. Both cyclists and pedestrians have to be wary of each other. Since I used to cycle, I totally understand. It isn't right for one to put the blame on another, because in the end, cyclists would still have to use the pavements. Would you rather them cycle on the roads and hold up traffic because their bikes can't go as fast?
Of course, cyclists, when cycling on the pavements have to be extremely careful of human traffic too. Basic road courtesy still applies! So, there you go!
