Man raped retarded daughter, 8, in public carpark

A MENTALLY retarded girl was forced to perform oral sex and raped by her father, shortly after watching him and his lover have sex in a multistorey carpark.
The woman is also the girl's mother.
At the time, her daughter was eight years old.
The two, who initially tried to blame the woman's 82-year-old father for the rape, were jailed yesterday.
She was sentenced to a total of eight years and four months for aiding her lover's abuse of her daughter and lying to the police.
The man got 13 years and 14 strokes for rape, five years for unnatural sex, and three months for abetting his mistress to make a false report.
The first and third sentences are to run consecutively.
The woman, a 39-year-old part-time cleaner who is divorced, had taken the girl when she went to meet her lover at a Marsiling coffee shop one afternoon in early May last year.
The trio went to a secluded spot on the third level of a nearby carpark, where the couple, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had sex on a discarded sheet of cardboard on the floor.
After that, the 47-year-old unemployed man, who is married and has two children, said he wanted to have sex with his daughter.
The woman showed the child what she was expected to do, as well as undressed her and told her to lie down.
The girl cried throughout her ordeal and her mother scolded her lover, who apologised and promised not to do it again.
A few days later, the woman decided to make a police report, but was told by her lover to put the blame for the rape on her elderly father, who is visually handicapped.
She made the false report at Marsiling Neighbourhood Police Post on May 7 last year.
The matter was passed to the Criminal Investigation Department's Serious Sexual Crimes Branch.
But the woman's father denied sexually abusing the child, and when she was questioned further, the woman admitted making a false report. Her lover also admitted that it was he who had raped the child.
The couple's IQs were found to be low, he around 67 and she, 64. This puts the man at the bottom of the normal range of intelligence, and makes the mother mildly mentally retarded.
The girl, now nine, was also found to be mentally retarded and behind in her speech development.
Addressing the court before the sentencing yesterday, Deputy Public Prosecutors Eugene Lee Yee Leng and Tan Wee Soon said the couple took advantage of their 'young, utterly defenceless and mentally retarded' daughter and 'robbed her of her virtue and innocence'.
They called for a deterrent sentence to send 'a strong message' that sexual offences against young children, particularly one's own, would not be tolerated.
Pleading for leniency, the woman said in a choked voice that her father was very sick.
She said she had two other daughters - a 19-year-old who lives alone and a six-year-old who has been given away.
Justice Choo Han Teck told her that her family would no doubt suffer 'the ricochet effect' of her punishment and said he had been lenient because of this.
