i think it's more than a matter why she had turned to prostitution as an way of living..
if you choose to accept her past.. that's great.. but be prepared when both your lifes come together and your friends will occasionally probe about her past.. and sometimes, you will be reminded of it... i'm not saying it's not possible.. and not that i look down on them... just bringing out the practicality of the issue...
