Help : Arrested for something I did not do

In Jan 2003 this year I was arrested for a crime I did not commit (along the lines of molest). I was released a few hours later on bail as the so called Victim claimed that I touched her about 2 years + ago in a lift. No evidence, No Nothing and yet I have to be arrested
as she claimed to positiely identify me 2 years later near my HDB blocks as I later found out that she stayed in my block too... It's a new neighbourhood with new flats so we don't often meet.
Now I'm constantly worrying about the outcome of the case even though I know nothing will probably happen to me as I REALLY hate to remain a Suspect!!! The police have recommened "No Further Action" and all I'm waiting for right now after 2 statements taken is for the DPP to reply and return the IP(investigation papers) to the police to recomend them what to do. Sigh I found out police have to listen to them.
Can any kind police or lawyer guys or just anyone give me advice on what I can do except wait wait n wait ... Do the police really take that long to close a case like this or just all cases in general. It has been about 5 months and still no confirmed news...

yah.... same good luck to u dude... i guess u juz haf to wait... my uncle is a lawyer but too early to ask for u lah... and since u waited for 5mths let it be den... unless there's evidence the police will drag on... usually this case lor... if tt gal is so evil to find fake evidence u should be in jail by now lah. the police prefer to keep things aside unless u keep on pestering them for a reply for which i did when i reported a case on call harassment... on the other hand if u stress them some guai lan police officer will act impartially... so maybe u wanna choose to wait?

Sometimes the guy can be in a disadvantage in these situation.
I am not a in the SPF or a lawyer. So I can't give you any advise. Can only say good luck..... -

in Singapore u are guilty unless proven innocence... sad to say that our judiciary law is like that... this kinda things can drag for years... so seek a lwayer advice on how to get this things over quickly and be prepared to spend thousands on lawyer's fee...

Well, SAF law is guilty, until proven innocent. That everyone knows.
Anyway, I hate those people who claim molest or rape without evidence or thinking. Potentially image damaging and morale loss, especially when turn out that the defendant is really innocent.

In Singapore, it's innocent until proven guilty except for drug offences where you are guilty until proven innocent.

This law is obsolete liao. Nowadays women where got need so much protection, they are smarter and are more aware then in the past.
The guys need protection too.
There is no smoke without fire. How come that gal will accuse you. There must be at least a 100 guys in that block and she accuse you. U can buy 4D liao. Maybe the winnings enough for lawyer fees.

Overall, follow the advise here lah. Get a lawyer. Borrow $ from family and friends if you don't have enough.
It will be worth it. Maybe if the girl see that you are a serious and got resources and not some defenceless moron she will back off.
Maybe she need to be awarded in IMH for observation. -

Well , firstly I have to know which division handle your case and what is your investigation officer name ? IF you have the IO name , just call the division hotline and ask to speak with Your IO...

First of all I want to say Thank you for all the kind advice
There's isnt any evidence in the first place and I don't even recogonize the girl. The Police did "Promise" me no further action as that is what they recommened. They ask me if I'm willing to accept a warning but that doesn't really clear my name does it?
Now after 5 months I am still waiting for the file to be returned to the police. Some friends told me that's how the law works, the DPPs are slow in the sense that they have tons of files to read.
But what's driving me crazy is why an Innocent man should have to wait so long to have his name cleared.. The last 5 months have been nothing but a mental torture -

someone i knew also had such a experience also... he went mustapha shopping and bought alot of things... after paying, the goods were placed in a plastic bag and sealed by the cashier as he was exiting the alarm sounded and it was found out that a pack of razor blades was not paid inside his plastic bag and there was no proof of the seal being tampered... he was charged in court and got off with a warning... weird judiciary system... -

oh oh I have the IO's name. I did call him before and I met him twice for statements but he just said I have to wait and this kind of cases is "like that one" but he first told me it'll be over in 1-2 months than 2- 4 months.... now it's like FOREVER...
