when i part time at this travel fair, i saw the different waitressess from the different airlines......SQ one pales significantly......attitude oso quite bad......got one....she hissed at my colleague to get her a chair when the one at her booth went missing.....i tell my colleague not to get for her.....cos it's not part of our job scope to carry chairs for anyone during the fair.....so my colleague went to tell her tt the chairs are stacked at the back of the hall....hinting she mus ownself go take...........muehhahahaha.....tot it's her job to serve ppl (and herself?), and she thinks bcos we part-timers, she can order us ard? -

Stewardesses only make a little more if they are on duty on long haul flights... they get more allowances.... so, on the part where you said big time? No really.
As for the branded stuffs, when you travel more, you're more accessible to the branded stuffs in Europe which are much cheaper, and if you travel to Korea, you'll be able to get damn good imitations. Mind you, they are selling very "real" Rolex watches in Bangkok, which costs you only between S$50 - S$100. If you know how to carry yourself, nobody will know even if what you have are imitations.
The other possibility ,of cos, is that they'll "pawn" themselves. Hook a business-man boyfriend (whom she met on the plane) and squeeze him dry of gifts and presents.
The bottom line is.... Don't envy stewardesses. When you do, you give these people an impression that they're a 'cut' above us. They're not exactly high-class / high-society people. They're just plain 'high-class waitresses'.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not offended by them. As a matter of fact, I've a few friends with SQ, JAL and United. They've "toned down" and became more down-to-earth. There were those days where they've shared with me on their Over-Spending habits and they're always trying so hard to facilitate their Credit-Card bills.....unless this is a perk to you, if not, its about time we change our perception about these people. -
What's wrong with branded goods?
All my things are branded too. Casio watch, Bata shoes, Swan socks, Giordano jeans, Hang Ten t-shirt, etc...

I knew of this friend friend who is a stewardess. The first international flight, she and other new stewardesses have to have sex with the pilot and the head steward to make her life easier in the airlines. It is been over 8 years and each time they go international flights, sex is requisite.

I know that for western airlines, they cannot just hire stewardess based on looks because there is union behind or if not they can get sued for discrimination.
So generally you can tell the difference when you fly the Asian airlines compared to the Western ones. -

I'm not flying with SQ and my pay is not that much like 4k but i dun go for branded stuff too.... I just thought it's so wasteful to spend so much on accessories...

Quite true. Some even comes back as mistresses to rich men.
