  I think such feelings are quite important especially when after the true confession, the gal rejected the guy, but at least if both sides can manage to keep the friendship feelings intact, there may be still chance for the relationship to go a bit deeper.
  
  Telling the gal too fast especially when she is not ready or the trust not developed yet may cause the gal to shun you real quick.

  hey, I've tried both the "lets-be-friend-first" and the straightforward methods b4...both also got cock-ups...so i think depends on the girl. some like u to be very macho, tell them fast ...some like u to slow slow sensitive...
  
  so like most things in life, no one method solve all one... must tailor your strategy... easier said than done i know...

  LOlz... actuallly,, Last time I got a chance to Speak up to her Dat I like her.. But dunnoe Y i dun haf the guts to do so.. I felt our reltionship would break down If i say so.. Then a few times we chatting in the phn i had signal her but always.. she treat it like a joke then rejected Mi... Guys/gers U thing i still have chances!!!shall i onot to confess with her nx time We meet again!!!

  it all depends on the girl and the guy. the girl need to be mature enough to handle this and continue to accept the guy as a friend on the basis that she has made known her stand clear to the guy.
  
  as for the guy, he has to learn to manage his feelings and not continue to pressurise the girl, at least he has to be able to make the girl to be comfortable with him.
  
  I admit that this is not easy for the guy but if he is able to do so, I believe he will gain the respect of the girl and in life, we tend to attract what we respect, not saying that the girl will surely like the guy, just that if she does not, someone else better will.
