I goin for performance so definately pick up acer laptops. But since my poly say I dont NEED a laptop...Im still thinking whether need to buy lor...Eh, 2nd year students in NP entitled to this offer or not? Each student can buy how many laptops? I've been using the T42 for a year now... bought from NUS for $2.8k... not bad... really quite sturdy... and the keyboard is the closest one can get to a normal keyboard... don't feel flimsy like the other brands...
One thing is that last year, the batch of T42 I got from IBM had some problems with the Centrino wireless networking... sometimes couldn't connect to the network in school... so I went to have it replaced, and it's definitely better now...
I still love using my T42... damn rugged and I don't have to really bother about protecting it... it protects itself... hehe...
Was really convinced when the guy at the fair opened up the display model, and banged it down to hard on the table, the whole table shook... another guy actually dropped his like 10 cm above the table top... and still works fine... hehe...
It's really a good buy... -

Eh.. I dun think they sell ferrari laptop in NP.. But I think outside sell around 3200SGD at least? If you dun really need laptop, dun buy lor.. get a desktop, it'll perform better and can upgrade summore.. I think 2nd yr student oso can buy bah.. they say staff can buy but wun get pre-installed programme.. I'm getting IBM laptop.. cuz my cousin's friend said very good.. Used 2 yrs no prob at all..
