The damage of Meso Explosion is dependent on the amount of meso exploded and is limited by the fact that a player may only drop up to 50,000 mesos in a single bag, although 50,000 mesos with Meso Explosion can deal over 60,000 damage. Also, there is the fact that other players can pick up your dropped mesos and the inconvenience to activate it. Lastly, Chief Bandits have 'Meso Guard', which will always block 50% of any damage (physical or magical) taken by the player, at a penalty of some Meso.
For example, a level 1 'Meso Guard' will block 50% damage; with 90% of the blocked damage dealt to Meso. Thus, a 2,000 damage hit is reduced to 1,000 HP and 900 Meso. Once maxed, the skill lasts for 2 full minutes, and the Meso penalty is reduced to 78%. It will never block more than 50% of damage. -
