Hatchback under 61K. Any suggestions?

haha brother,
by the time u make yr decision, maybe a lot of car become out of yr reach.
since price are low now, better make up yr choice fast fast.
U wun know how long the low COE will stay or when again the COE will come to this level again if it rise.
so my recommendation: get yr car before end of this mth.
just my 1 cent worth!!! hehe

get the new swift.. shld be quite reliable..
or a 2nd hand fit/colt/march, etc -
for 30k more, u can buy a Mitsubishi Outlander AWD leh, good power at high rpm even at auto gear.

Seriously I would have a lot more choices if I have that kind of Budget.
30k is actually a lot of money and it took me 2years plus to save up that money.

since u are asking for hatchback, its quite restricted at tt price actually.
not much of a choice, perhaps a few like picanto, aveo, getz fits into the under 61k category.
but..go for mazda 2..abt 4k more.
i guess u will love it.
other hatchback like nissan march, 66k (abt 5k more than budget)
jazz/fit abt 70k..
colt abt 68k
but seriously if u dont mind a sedan, 61k will be able to get u a value for money vios. -

Nissan should be out too, I heard it drink more and more as it gets older. -

Meaning for 61k car, I am already spending 500 per month when I down 20k.
That is just the installment for the car.
Adding in the rest, road tax n insurance n carpark.
I will be spending 1k a month with a 61k car.
So 400 more, means 1.4k per month.
At 2.5k, I only take home 2k.
Giving 500 to the old folk to see me through my University.
Then with 1.4k on the car, I have only 100dollars for food and other expenses.
Try surviving with 100 dollar a month, you can only if you are still in primary school or still serving army.
I know kid nowadays can get up to 2k allowance when they are in their teens.
Maybe that is why they don't have any idea how hard money is earned these days. -
Recently went to Chip Guan at Turf city looking for Ignis. Found something that looks like Ignis but was marketed as Swift. Funny!
Anyway, saw Toyota Vitz when I was there. 63k for a 1000cc manual hatch. Any comment? -

Try march next year. Suzuki Swift price may drop then. -

50+ plus for a decade year old plus Vitara 1.6 softop leh.
pointless to test speeed, its not meant for speed but it got good power on tap even when old and can make u go off road too. -
If you are constraint by budget, why not get second hand then. It would be lighter on your wallet...

So in the end, secondhand car and firsthand would amount to about the same price/commitment. -
I see your point of view and to a great extent agree with you, just that we have different perspectives. I don't think I can tahan drive a car for 7-10 yrs.
