fast cars on straight require skills from the driver to understand how to plant the horse power onto the road/tarmac. One can have a very powerful car and still lose out to one with lesser horses. If the driver of the powerful car wheelspin all the way and cannot control the power delivery, he can be smoking all the way and looking at the ass of the lesser powered car.
On the contrary, a proper car use exclusively for high speed cornering is not just any car, a skillful driver can corner a car better than a novice, obviousy for sure, but an equally skill will almost always win thumbs up with a car that's not only fast but properly set up for high speed cornering.
My conclusion is that, those who use this as a signature almost always ( ok ) cannot own a fast car or a properly set up car and hence, green eye about those who does. Therefore he can only take about thing he cannot have and only things / skills that he MIGHT have but then so does many others.
I think it had to do with something call inferiority complex....

hmm ..thats pretty contridicting to what you are saying really, you said your cousin abit crazy and first time doing such activities, and she is careful and considerate driver NORMALLY ....hmm... sometimes i do wonder how can a driver who can show 3rd finger, challenge someone to a drag race and be considered a safe driver.......sheesh....maybe its th same syndrome everywhere the "my car is more powerful" syndrome...even in melbourne where i'm studing now, there are weekly reports of young 18 and 19 yr old teenages racing in 4l and 4.8l Holdens and Fords, and very often these errant drivers get themselves killed due to their callous behaviour...
So be it the driver of the 911 is revving hard his engine does it warrent a challenge to race, what happens if someone gets hurt, and so happen your cousin (touch wood) was the driver, you belive the Court will belive "the porsche driver was being sialan and was reving, so i wanted to challenge him to a century sprint"
As a driver, i think being resposible for your passenger's safety and being a responsible driver towards others is ought to be the traits of a driver and one that occansionally challenges to race..

the lamp post leh...... only the circuit cover fell off.... i kept the cover as memoribilia -
