Accident on SLE

One question...how come when i saw the accident, your black civic is not staight when on impact but it is position to the right, like a car overtaking from center to right..??

I also kena a similar accident on the 30th of Jan. Driving my Vios along Punggol Road. Going to turn right at a junction. In front of me is a Hyundai Matrix. For some reason or other, the Hyundai matrix did a sudden brake. As i was too close behind her, I langa her from behind.
Ask her why she did a sudden brake, she said the car in front of her also brake. But she will also win the case hands down because you are the one hitting HER FROM BEHIND. LAN LAN
The lesson i learnt is also keep a safe following distance. No matter what stupid thing the car in front do, if you langa the car from behind, then good luck to you.

if i recall correctly, the scenic was slightly to the right side of the road, and the impact on my car was slightly to the right. maybe that's the cause of the position of my car

I usually avoid the overtaking lane unless I'm really overtaking, then pull quickly to the second, or even third lane if I can. So if some speedking still wants to tailgate, I'll just gradually slow down till we're both driving at 5km/h (hasn't happened yet 
) or they just overtake on the right.

why are some of u guys blaming the white car?
i dun see any fault with the white car.
the white car is just trying to avoid accident thats all. he manage to avoid and u didn't simply because u are too close to the white car. and obviously not paying enough attention to the road infront of u.
so dun try to push some of the blame to the white car. because that is ridiculous. he has done nothing wrong.
if u want to blame, u can only blame the scenic u bang into for stopping in the middle of the expressway. but still, u will most probably lose the case anyway.

Don't think anyone is blaming the white car, except maybe STiYaKuzA... who is blaming the white car... the car that stopped, the road markings, the trees by the side of the road and 2 pidgeons that were flying overhead then.
Frankly from what I read, STiYaKuzA was tailgating. Doesn't seem like the white car had room to brake (most likely he was tailgating too, but was lucky enough to swerve out of the way without hitting another car in the process).
Even if that white car had not swerved and had crashed instead, STiYaKuzA would have ended up rear-ending the white car anyway
My dad always used to say, "You have no control over other drivers on the road, but must always have 100% control over your own car." - ie. Don't complain that a car suddenly stopped in front of you... make sure you have enough distance to stop in case he does.

tin of this, if the white car swerved out, there is a one car length of space. and STiYaKuzA did;t manage to use tat space to stop in time or swerved out. then if the white car did;t swerved out. do u tin he will be able to stop or swerved out in time to prevent the accident. i doubt so.. anyone tin it is possible?

don't u think u shld hav tap the brakes when the white car swerved in? i normally travel slowly when im followin such funny n dangerous ppl then maybe change lane n speed away from tat car.

to me, banging into car from behind in a country like singapore with systematic and well-laid roads, is a humiliation of my manhood
those who have been involved in collisions before are not fit to drive on singapore roads and instead should take the bus or MRT, because of their tailgating skills are merely mediocre -
You might be able to argue that the scenic shouldn't have stopped on the expressway. That would also depend if they had engine trouble etc. If I remember correctly it's illegal to stop on an expressway if the car is fine. I will do the exact same thing as the white car in this situation knowing that someone is tailgating me. Imagine this, car infront jam brake suddenly for no reason. Although you have enough stopping distance but knowing that another car is extremely close behind you, what would you do?? I will definately "siam" to the next lane if there is no car by my side to avoid the bugger from hitting my back. To me, the white car is very skillful and observant for taking immediate action like that.
