Hi, i drive a K12 too.
I might have the solution for you but you must try it and not listen to others or read too much comics on K12.
1)Ease off on the gas pedal abit.(you're letting the RPM drop)
immediately,
2) Floor the gas pedal all the way.(You're forcing/shocking the engine to shift gear)
and you will get the surge.
If you feel no surge and there is a lag by trying the above.
Try doing this:
3) Turn off the aircon
and repeat step 1(Ease off on the gas abit more), 2(once you HEAR the engine rpm drop then "Pedal to the Metal")
You will have to do this a couple of times in order to know your car as to why it is not shifting gear(s) and to have a better understanding of your car's behaviour.
Unfortunately there isn't a Tachometer/ air-fuel ratio gauge in your car or else you will know how
hard you are driving/pushing it.
Call me @9760 7170 and i will demostrate the abovementioned if you are still in a fix after trying.
Books and listening to what other(s) tell you is a fairy tale, experience is what counts to know your car.l

Well, I've been driving my GF's K12. True enough that without a Techcometer it's really difficult to tell if I'm stressing the engine not. By listening the way the engine roars at 1st Gear to pick up, i guess the RPM reading should be at about 3K+. Hi, some parts of the world do have the manual, in singapore there were some rumours that TCM are planning to bring in the manual models.
K12 here are auto unless some PI have already brought in the manual model(s)

Only 1.0L & 1.2L K12 are available in manual. Both versions are not brought in by TC. Given S'porean's preference for autos, it's not diff to see why TC made that decision.
I dun see anymore PI advertising K12 for some time. Apparently not selling well. -

I got the 14E and asked for the removal of the body kits. Got a discount of $1.5k and also mamanged to squeeze the SE to let me keep my foglights.
Didnt mean to rub salt onto the wounds, but just wanna tell potential buyers of marchie that it is possible to do so cos the body kits is actually assembled here in Singapore. -

Hey tedz, sorry to hear abt ur espisode...
If the guy who knocks into u isnt holding a valid license, dont report him too cos similar to a drink-driver, u cant claim against his insurance as he couldnt even purchase a car, let alone the insurance policy. What we can do against these pple is to file a civil suit against them... but then a lot of considerations too, i guess...
Recently, my brother's car innocently kenna knocked too and the other party apologised once he came out of the car. Unfortuntely, my bro didnt have a camera to take pictures (was too dark to use hp camera) and they just exchanged particulars and make their own reports. To make things worst, this guy gave his statement in such a way that it became my brother's fault. So in this case where reports are totally contradicting, trouble brews cos u have to worry about doing own damage or 3rd party claim, repair at authorised, agents or whichever workshops willing to fight 3rd party claim for u, ncd and premium affected next year etc...
Me & my bro spent a few days asking ard for expert advice and now finally he got his car done but the case not closed yet. Will share with u when we next meet or if u r having this headache at this time, feel free to call me and I'll tell u what the considerations are, especially when ur car is also new. My bro's car was only 5 days old when he got into the accident.
Learn a lot through this accident and realise the importantance to have a camera with u all the time... that time when i used my camera at sentosa outing was not becos it was an outing but more so becos i always carry a camera everywhere i go... -
