Traffic Arrangements for Chingay Parade of Dreams 2006
The Chingay Parade 2006 Preview and the actual event will be held along Orchard Rd on 3 and 4 Feb 2006 , respectively.
2To facilitate the traffic arrangements for the parade, the following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6.30pm on 3 Feb to 12.30am on 4 Feb 2006, and from 6pm on 4 Feb 2006 to 2am on 5 Feb 06:
a) Paterson Road towards Scotts Rd (between Orchard Road and Scotts Rd )
Scotts Road : Motorists travelling along Scotts Road towards Paterson Road will be diverted to travel on the right carriage-way of Paterson Road (between Orchard Road and Orchard Boulevard ).
Paterson Road junction to Orchard Boulevard : Paterson Rd (between Orchard Boulevard and Scotts Rd) has been converted into a one-way road towards Irwell Bank Rd. Motorists travelling on Orchard Boulevard will not be able to make a right turn into Paterson Rd towards Scotts Rd.
Orchard Road junction to Paterson Road and Scotts Road : Motorists travelling along Orchard Rd can only turn left into Scotts Rd.
b) Orchard Road (between Scotts Road and Buyong Road );
Driveway and service road in front of Singapore Marriot Hotel : The driveway and service road in front of Singapore Marriott Hotel will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic;
Side road between Singapore Marriott Hotel and Lucky Plaza : The entrance and exit into the side road between Singapore Marriott Hotel and Lucky Plaza will be via Scotts Road ;
Bideford Road : Bideford Road between the exit of Crown Prince Hotel and Cairnhill Road will be converted into a temporary two-way traffic;
Cairnhill Road : Cairnhill Road between Bideford Road and Orchard Road will be temporarily converted into a two-way traffic flow;
Kramat Lane : The traffic scheme for Kramat Lane from Buyong Road to Cavenagh Road will be reversed towards the direction of Buyong Road .
Koek Road : Koek Road between Kramat Road and the driveway of Orchard Point Building car park will be converted into a temporary two-way traffic flow; and
c)Mount Elizabeth (between Nutmeg Road and Orchard Road );
Lucky Plaza car park : Entrance and exit of the car park is via Nutmeg Road . Vehicles are also allowed to exit Mount Elizabeth Road ;
Driveway of The Promenade: There is no entry to the driveway of The Promenade. However, vehicles leaving the building can exit via the driveway into Mount Elizabeth ;
d) Orchard Link;
e) Grange Road;
f) Cuppage Road;
g) Killiney Road (between Somerset Road and Orchard Road ); and
h) Oxley Road (between Penang Road and Orchard Road );
3Motorists are advised to avoid Orchard Road and the peripheral roads leading to the affected area. Auxiliary Police officers will be stationed at all the affected road junctions to assist motorists and regulate traffic.
4Motorists intending to proceed to City from the northern, eastern and western parts of the island are advised to use the following alternative routes:
a) Northern Part: via Bukit Timah Road and Ophir Road ;
b) Eastern Part: via ECP and Nicoll Highway ;
c) Western Part: via Jalan Bukit Merah / AYE / Keppel Road .
5SBS and SMRT buses serving the affected roads will be diverted during the period of the road closure.

Came across some other mods. Can anyone comment on the usefulness for FC, power?
1) MV air charger (tubular thingy)
2) E86 twin air intake
3) superione (inline and air intake)

Heyo!
Did a small mod for my Marchie Dash board for my Video Ipod. (it plays thru the stock radio unit thru the AUX and also charges at the same time)
DId it because:
1) all my music collection is in MP3
2) I don't listen to local radio
3) Catch my favourite podcast like digg, dl.tv, insomnia while driving.
Been having this mod for quite a while now, so i tot i'd share pics of it
Basically I shifted the stock radio to the bottom DIN, then did a paper mockup of what i wanted it to be, went to a workshop, they fabricated it with wood backing , then got a car upholstery shop to wrap it in cream coloured pvc leather for me to give that pudgy feeling.
To connect to the RCA jack, i went to simlim to custom make a very short mini stereo to RCA (red and white connector) . I also got a mechanic to route out in parallel , the cigarette lighter jack to the back of the dash board. There, I used a 12v DC jack plug into a car ipod charger ( u can find this in funan or simlim)
Finally all is wired up to an apple ipod universal dock ( the small back dot is actually the infrared red port just in case I wanted to used an ipod remote)
So there's the short of it

Have you consider changing your headunit and speakers to ehance your sound systems...?
The paper con stock speakers cant give you the pleasure ...!

I changed my 2 front to infinity 2-way the moment i got my car.. .. Maybe a little while more, I will swap them for Rainbow Speakers ( a german brand ) components... anyway its loud enuff for me since i listen to jazz alot, so i dont think will add any amps or bass....
slowly change.. btw, anyone know if the spray on 3m sound damping material for underneath yr car will improve acoustics? or will indoor sound insulation panels help more? -

Infinity- 2 way Kappa serious ?
Rainbow speakers stand alone without aims but you will need a good head unit to push... for better results. swap the Infinity to the back after your install your rainbow..! down the road you will need Aims.
Did you check out warmer and harder bass feel lotus or Boston 2way. But you need Tube aims to give them that punch and clarity . NOt Really abt loud... by the is a big set up $... ?
I am not sure.. i had not try it...! but SP the floors with dynomat will give you more value for $. For our doors..! you need to SP the doors for better feel. Especially you listen to jazz..the noise from roads and engine will turn you off.
I did my SP for 4 doors x 2 layers...! alot of difference...when you are on the road. -
I will push my infinity to the back definetly. THo I am not intent on making my machine an ICE . THe current setup is 85% there for me already, so I will change when my hands are really itchy....
currently waiting for my rims from Poh Heng to come... plus my struts..(havent pay deposit yet leh...)
One other concern is FC, i dont want to reduce efficiency.. i am getting 14km/l ++ , so dont really wanna kill it...

You are right abt F.C, my 1.4L drinks like a vvti 1.6L...with all that stuff in my ride. Abt 11 - 12 k/m .... OVER KILL. The car can be purchased 2nd hand, as the ex owner wants back his number plate. So new owner needs to register his 2nd WHITE march as SGC***?, depends on when he/she register for the number ? And there many other reasons.. of seeing the car with the new plate SGC..?? but for now... i believe there isn't any more new white marchies to be purchased.
