No VW for me. Can't stand their designs, especially the Passat. So which of the 2 cars would you go for if you were me?Originally posted by ben1406:test drove both cars before leaving for canada. just tried the new vw jetta (bora in sg) cos i was thinking of getting one. I kinda like the vw better. just hate the chris bangle bimmers.
i have a friend who told me that audi is inferior to BMW...that why he chose BMW over audiOriginally posted by arrggh:Need some advise here. After test-driving both cars, I like both cars very much, but given very limited budget, and garage space, I can only get either of them. Which of them do you guys think I should buy and why?
don't forget the saab 9-3 too. it's such a beauty ! but given a choice between those two cars, audi for me !Originally posted by KangZ:If you are talking about quality, there's no way the Beemer can beat the Audi. If you are talking about handling, the 318 is definitely better. If I were you, I will take a good hard look at the Volvo S40 T5. Best compromise of both.
Sorry. What I really mean is the 320.Originally posted by nightsky87:BMW 318 meaning.. second hand?
Because for 3 series, PML sells the 320iA.
I think in terms of performance, reliability, go for the BMW.
I was told that the 320 interior is made of real leather while that of the A4 is made of syn leather. Is that true?Originally posted by fondue:318 made in South Africa, A4 made in Germany.
Have not try the 318 yet, but i prefers the A4 exterior and interior look and space. 10-speaker Sound system is pretty good too.
I tot the previous BMW3 look nicer than current.
Hi, what's your reason for choosing the 320 over the A4?Originally posted by Suv noob:i dont think u can get a new 318 the base model is now the 320 anyway to answer your question i would choose the 320 over the A4 2.0 anytime but since you've got the money why not opt to look at the A4 1.8T now thats a car after my heart the 325 is pretty gd too but its a bit on the high side at 170k
I thought of the S40 too but couldn't convince myself to have a 2nd look at the dashboard. But heard that Volvo has the toughest carsOriginally posted by KangZ:If you are talking about quality, there's no way the Beemer can beat the Audi. Saab has a very confusing dashboard. Also, I heard that Saab builds lousy cars although they are plane engines makers.Originally posted by ben1406:don't forget the saab 9-3 too. it's such a beauty ! but given a choice between those two cars, audi for me !
confusing dashboard ? explain.. i drove a saab back in sg and i never had problems with the car. i love my sabbie!Originally posted by arrggh:Saab has a very confusing dashboard. Also, I heard that Saab builds lousy cars although they are plane engines makers.
Please tell me why do you choose the Audi?
Yep. Volvo cars are good. I heard the 80 is simply fantastic.Originally posted by arrggh:I thought of the S40 too but couldn't convince myself to have a 2nd look at the dashboard. But heard that Volvo has the toughest cars
Hey! no offence. I haven't sat in a 93 before but from the pictures that I gathered from the web, there are far too many buttons. Also, I've got an issue with the nobe on the air-con vent. Looks flimsy and cheap to me.Originally posted by ben1406:confusing dashboard ? explain.. i drove a saab back in sg and i never had problems with the car. i love my sabbie!
why audi ? cos i don't like the chris bangle bimmers.. given other options, i wouldn't even get either.
How do you expect people to answer that kind of question. Even the engineers at BMW are unable to answer. The new 3 is barely 2 years old. It's too early to say anything about the potential computer problems.Originally posted by tiggersgd:has the new 3series resolved the older comp problems?
heard bimmers are well known for their comp problems.
people who knows will answer it..rather than saying what u have said. DUH!Originally posted by philia:How do you expect people to answer that kind of question. One moment you are saying computer problems. Another moment, engine problems. The problem is your failure to clarify your question.Originally posted by tiggersgd:people who knows will answer it..rather than saying what u have said. DUH!
and pls hor, engineers at BMW knows something abt the limits to the 3 series. every engine has its own limits mah. and if they are to tell the whole world abt their engine limitations, would anyone want to get the car in the 1st place?!!!
let's face it, the new 7 series was less than 2 yrs old when it screwed up big time too?! early to say anything abt the potential computer problems? i dun think so....![]()
