Firstly, Rest In peace Angelia....
2ndly the story goes like this:
The driver was driving and he wasn't speeding, cos any kid will know the road is so congested at that time along upper paya lebar road and no way for u to speed under such congestion and a car swerve into his lane. he wanted to avoid the car by swerving left, but the road is made of metal plates and mind u the plates are slippery even if it's not wet, thus the MX 5 being a FR car the car oversteered instead. the driver isn't familair with a FR car tried to counter steer but the rear right of the car hit the divider and the car was tossed to the next lane. Mind u when a car oversteers with a driver not knowing how to control the oversteer( many of singapore drivers do not anyway) can go above the speed he was actually travelling thus going over the divider is not surprising at all.
Anyway with the rear right side hitting the divider, the force will make the frontal of the car slid to the left in a 180 angle, thus causing the car to flip (not somersault that type of flip) to the oppersite lanes. before the car actually landed again on the ground (it went over the divider of course not all 4 wheels are on contact with the ground), it so happen the angle the car is facing is the front of the car facing the right side meaning oncoming vehicles is going head on to the pessenger side, the BMW came smashing onto the car. and the MX 5 is still not really on 4 wheels yet thus the impact of a 1700kg car would easily flip a 1100kg car a few rounds into mid air as the mx 5 is in midair before the impact. (Kids also will know this). Doesn't nees the MX5 or the BMW to be speeding to cause the flip... 50-60km is all it takes. the the car landed on a van...... the rest is already publish on papers.
I wouldn't say it is not his fault BUT i would say judging from the situation it is not entirely his fault too... Call him names and assume watever theory all U want. But one thing I know is that the driver is going to live with guilt for the rest of his life. He hasn't been himself and is not in a right state of mind saying weird things like " I think i should go down and say sorry to her" such stuffs.
The gal is my Fren. And my heart hurts more than any one of u here. And I so happen to also know the driver which I was damn angry with him at first but after hearing how the accident occured and seeing him ao remourseful and sucidal makes me lost and pity him too...... Anyway he will sure face his punishment from the law but his worse is to live with a guilt the rest of his life.
And if u guys wanna ask me how come i know so much details of the whole accident.........................
I rushed down to the accident scene shortly after the accident. in fact the driver was in a daze and dun really know wat happen and i got the whole story fom the workers that witness the accident and from the van driver that the MX5 landed on. Later on then i get to hear the drivers side of the story which very similialy tally with the rest of the eye witnesses.

So basically Lets put a Full stop to this once and for all....SPEEDING IS NOT THE MAIN CAUSE OF ACCIDENTS...its either Irresponsible driving,poor driving skills or poor road conditions which allow this sort of unfortunate event to take place....

It would appear that the BMW is from the recently superceded 3-series. Some visual cues there I would take to come from that series.
I don't know what kind of road was on the opposite side of the road (where the accident started) but where the car came to rest, it appears to be normal tarmac, not metal plates. I do agree that driving on that pierced-steel-planking even in dry conditions is very dodgy.
Front left of the MX5 shows abrasions (looks like from asphalt) while the left side passenger has a large crumple that matches the vertical crumple damage on the bumper of the BMW, which runs up the length of the bonnet. Can you imagine the orientation of the cars at impact? This accident was a T-bone not only horizontally but vertically as well. I would imagine the car corkscrewed/pirouetted through the air from the moment it got airborne. The number of rolls it managed to do is probably an indication of the speeds it carried. The question is, how much speed do you need in order to lift the car up like that in the first place?
The car appeared to be travelling on the overtaking lane, and the MX-5 is a car with very immediate response. Without judging his forward speed, I would feel that he had very possibly steered the car much too quickly to snap the tail out like that - the car *should* have responded with a directional change and began turning into the slow lane way before the rear wheel had a chance of tagging the right hand side road kerb. -
Being the only daughter and perhaps sole breadwinner for the family, I hope there is a form of compensation or package for her parents. Imagine their hopes and future dreams just gone..like that. Really tragic.

that gal changed from car rental to SE because she wanted to provide for her retired parents. Now she's gone, her parents how? If that idiot still have conscious, he should at least provide them for whole of their lives. That is the least he can do for xueli.

jus finish reading the newspaper todae.. realise that she was being carried out from the car by passerby.. jus wondering if her injuries was further aggravated by e passerby whom removed her from the wreck.. mayb it was e action of e passerby who further aggravate her neck injuries and cause her death.. wonder if its possible since she was already suffering from neck injusries after e crash..

Car agent dies when test drive goes wrong

SHE was out on a test drive with her last customer of the day before rushing off to a friendÂ’s wedding.
But the 22 year old car sales agent He Xueli, just four months into her new job, never made it to the dinner with her boyfriend.
The customer she was sitting next to lost control of the new Mazda MX-5 while driving along Upper Paya Lebar Road at about 6pm on Saturday.
The silver sports car flew over the road divider, smashed head on into a black BMW, flipped over it and came crashing down into a van in the other lane.
The driver, a 24 year old warehouse supervisor, managed to stagger out of the badly battered car alive.
Ms He suffered a broken neck. She had to be unbuckled from her seat and carried out by passers-by.
The horrifying seconds before the out of control car came to a halt also caused Ms He to have a heart attack, as paramedics later found she had suffered cardiac arrest.
Her light blue blouse and black slacks – the uniform for Mazda sales staff – were stained with blood. Her strapless high heels lay by the side of the road. She was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital but died there an hour later.
The Mazda driver has been arrested and is out on bail.
The five people in the BMW were taken to Changi General Hospital where they received outpatient treatment for chest pains and breathing difficulties.One of them, a seven year old boy, also had abrasions on his knees. A couple in the van escaped unhurt.
Ms He started working at Mazda dealer Village Credit in Upper Bukit Timah four months ago. Before that, she was with a car rental shop. Colleagues say the Village Credit showroom had run out of the MX-5 model, so Ms He had to get one from another showroom in Macpherson Road.
She did not want to go for the test drive at first because of her friend’s wedding dinner later in the evening. “She wanted to let another agent handle the customer.but we were all busy as it was a Saturday evening and the showroom was quite packed then,’said a colleague,who did not want to be named.
“She initially thought she would tell the customer to come back another day, but she felt it wasn’t good customer service so she agreed to go with him.”
Barely 5 minutes into the journey, the customer lost control of the car on the winding road which is layered with metal plates due to construction works there.The colleague said they were not travelling on the usual test-drive route taken by Mazda sales agents.
The Mazda MX-5, also known as the Miata, costs about $110,000. It can hit a top speed of 191kmh.It uses rear-wheel-drive system, and motoring experts said such cars can easily swerve out of control if the driver suddenly takes his foot off the accelerator.
Ms HeÂ’s employers declined to comment on the accident, but car agents interviewed could not recall any colleague killed in a test drive accident before.
Ms He was the only child of an odd job labourer and a mother who works in a bakery. At the mortuary yesterday morning, her mother was in tears and declined to be interviewed.
Mss He stopped school after her O levels. But a relative said she recently started night classes for a marketing diploma as she wanted to “earn more money so her parents can retire.” -

The newspapers said the gal suffered a heart attack before the impact. And, during the impact, she broke her neck. When you break your spine, you sever all the nerones in the spine and even if you'd survived you will be paralysed for life. The passerby who did that probably did so out of compassion.
