hi all i am currently in thailand, pattaya. i intend to drive all the way from thailand to singapore. how long will the trip take? i am driving with another 2 of my thai friends so we can take turns.

i suggest u take a plane..
u know how "safe" is malaysian roads?.
but generally..it'll take u 3 hours from ipoh to kl..then another 3 hours to reach jb..
so i think +- is around 13 hours..

Ipoh to Kl - ard 3 hrs
Kl to JB - ard 3 hrs
JB custome to my house - ard 45 mins
Total: ard 12 hrs 45 mins

see more stuff.
just take precautions... don't stop at places you don't feel safe or what.
Stop only at petrol stations or within cities.
i am sure you will enjoy it.
and i think LTA requires you to have an English translation of your plate on the vehicle. better check this legal requirement out first. -

hehe.. show off alittle.. my siao car did the sg kl trip in 2hr 30 mins.. to be exact, from sembawang to sheraton in PJ. But that was like 1am in the morning lah.

yup...u will dont worry..
and when u do...i as a malaysian appreciate yr "contribution" -
its about 16 hours continuous driving. I suggest why not you break it up to 2 sessions.
Like from sg to ipoh, then stay overnight there, next morning continue from ipoh to bangkok.
From SG to IPOH, you can have 3 stop-overs, at coffee-shops, designated stop-over points, etc.
Same from Ipoh to bkk, you can have another 3 stop-over points.
