i'm new to tis forum
very enthu to cars..
i'm currently training to be a racer and now learning how a car works and theories beind racing till next yr when i get my license...been car crazy since 10yrs or age when my cousin raced in m'sia highway he stopped racing ever since a incident took his leg, yet he's very supportive of me doing street racing..move to sum car topics...

chill man, not trying to boast here...i mean, ya, i'm not driving anything yet then a bicycle...but training to be a racer doesn't mean pure driving and not knowing anything...i'm now learning how a car works sum racing physics and theories like weight-shifting, drifting, countersteer, racer's mentality and all...dun mean to offend any one...

ya ain't training until ya behind the wheel itself.... but well doesnt hurt to read up and gain some knowledge.
Sorry to hear about yr cousin, but i think he already gave you a clear view of the consequences of doing street racing. It baffles me why he actually supports you in these kind of activities.
And since ya only 17 and learning about weight-transfer blahblah... do you even know how an engine works in the first place? I suggest you start from the bottom then work your way up. ITE has got Automotive Technology courses to get you started with. If you really have a passion for cars since young, then 2 years of schooling on that course shouldn't be a problem for you. -

a car is basically powered by combusting petrol...
i'll explain how i works
the car engine we have today is created by a man named 'Nik Otto'
a standard 4-stroke(stages) engine..intake, compression, combustion, exhaust
when the intake valve opens the pistons are forced down the cylinder, then moves up to compress fuel+air, there is alot of potential energy in this mixture...the spark plug ignites the 'explosion' then it drives the piston down quickly and then leaves by the exhaust valve which opens when the moves down all the way of the cylinder
tat's how it basically works...there's still many more...i wonder if tis is enough
and please dun make fun of my cousin...he's a supports me racing becos it's wat i want to do...not professionally but for fun as a amateur racer -
we are not making fun of your cousin, just telling you not to do street racing. if u want to race, go to a proper track.

and are u serious about street racing?? or u mean track racing?? and u really have to sit behind the wheels to really train.. or else u read a lot is only what the chinese call zhi shang tan bing... -

no la...it's more of like a hobby than a profession...actually i noe all these car things from my uncle, cousin father, who works in a repair shop...i wun race on the streets unless there is no ppl around to knock

and on a racetrack you i doubt many here could beat them...
it'd be more perspective to look at the contents of what he's saying and question what he really knows about racing, rather than questioning him about that due to his age.

stormy_turbo, as someone who's actually RACED for 3 years and had both proper training in racing and racing theory, I can only say you honestly don't know a lot. Everything u've mentioned about theory is very basic and not indepth, and your racing theory seems to be gleaned from watching Initial D more than anything else. I especially have to try not to laugh when u mention "racer's mentality" because that sounds really initial D, and what mentality are u talking about? Racer's mentality is to be responsible and race on the racetrack. If u're thinking about street racing u can't have much of a "racer's mentality". Too much initial D... look at the stupid misconceptions they put into the heads of the gullible.

the racer mentality not as in how a racer will react and counter that during races...like those simulations given by the project D racer, as in like safety of predestrians and when u see certain driving behaviour tat ppl adopt and which is easy...not really much i noe bout cars true...but i want to race not repair...
