A murcie only costs 300k US. This is about the cost of a condo in Singapore right?

Lambo Gallardo is retailing for about S$800,000 to S$820,000 in Singapore, a Murcielago is about S$1.18million..prices may fluctuate depending on currency conversion rate and COE price..the reason why a car becomes so hideously expensive when it comes to the shore of Singapore because I remember there's a tax that the govt. impose on new cars, it's a cool 110%..Originally posted by Icemoon:But these cars are typically smaller than the average luxury cars like BMWs and Mercedes.
So I don't think the high price is to limit the no. of cars on our roads.
Overheads high meh? Other than renting a compound like any other car dealers, what else do they pay?Originally posted by DcR:All I have to say in response to the above comment is that eurosports SG deserves to earn that amount, or however much they make off each car simply because,
1. their overheads are pretty high
New cars? Including normal sedan cars?Originally posted by alleggerita:Lambo Gallardo is retailing for about S$800,000 to S$820,000 in Singapore, a Murcielago is about S$1.18million..prices may fluctuate depending on currency conversion rate and COE price..the reason why a car becomes so hideously expensive when it comes to the shore of Singapore because I remember there's a tax that the govt. impose on new cars, it's a cool 110%..

So if you say a Lambo Murcielago is US$300,000 in the US, just convert it to S$ and it's already S$450,000..add the 110% tax and it's already S$945,000 without road tax, insurance and COE..add these and the profit that the official dealer earns and it becomes S$1.18million approx..
Added: I would guess after adding road tax, insurance and COE to the S$945,000 it's about S$1million..so maybe the dealer earns about S$180,000..
Yes..ANY cars that are going to be registered privately in SG will have to pay that amazing amount of tax..Originally posted by Icemoon:New cars? Including normal sedan cars?
I think by definition the cars we buy first-hand from dealers are considered new.

Comparing the svc received frm hong seh to eurosports, i will probably not buy a ferrari again. But then again, HS has more customers anyhow.
No doubt they deserve to earn that amount of money..and their overheads are indeed quite high..Originally posted by Icemoon:Overheads high meh? Other than renting a compound like any other car dealers, what else do they pay?
