just rented a 1.6(M) lancer yesterday. these are my views;
- sorely lacking in power
- stock brakes were lousy as hell
- poor FC. got only about 7.5km/L but maybe partly due to the 17" rims
Overall, its a decent car to get you from point A to B, but it isn't much fun to drive. -

lancer have quite low FC. my fren driving a mannual clock 13.5km/l which is consider quite good. therefore as you say, lack of power. u wan power u lose the FC. you donwan power, FC sure wins. u lik impreza? brought one 1.6 and test the FC. i am 100% sure, the FC lik wat you say, "SUCKS."Originally posted by mh2:lacking in power?? manual drive? haha

and for your info, mitsubishi or FUSO motors in big vechicles lik trucks, their engine are consider quite good. but is rated below hino. (FUSO=MITSUBISHI) nissan, scania and others make cant even compete with its long lasting engine. so i don agree tat mitsubshi has a lousy engine. i believe they are built for quality. not quatity. if you juz look at car tat are powerful, prepare to buy another car in a short time. subaru 1.6ts might win over lancer, but mit evo wins over impreza. no matter is s204 or watsoever, its proven. so if the higher ends are best, i don think the lower end should be the worst. -

yes i hate mitsu too (no offence to bros here), but not on racing or faster or whatsoever. is because i recently bump (note the word "bump") into one lancer's rear and the bumper got a big dent. and C&C is claiming me 4-freaking-thousands for tt stupid bumper. made a complain to AIG and they are sorting it out.

There's only a simple reason to why i hate lancer, cus most of the lancer driver, especially some of the younger owner who doesn't have the ability to own an evo and trying to mod their car to be like an evo. Whycan't they simply stick to their humble lancer and not trying to be wannabe.
