ya,i notice that the badge 'forte' wasnt very well fitted too...
is forte same chasis and engine as avante?
At first I also thought of buying a Forte since it is very affordable, but I just can't get over the branding. Now u guys mentioned that there are already some problems. We will also see a lot of Forte on the road these 2 months, therefore I'm afraid that it will be difficult for resale in future.
Nevertheless, it is still a value-for-money car. It looks quite nice especially with the full body kits and sunroof.
Hi guys. i've a friend who is the sales person @ kia. so if u guys want to book any cars from them. do gimme a call. i will ask him to squeeze out some freebies for u. =) 97888203 Dex

OMV is around $12,000.... ok lar... given the list price... the depreciation is tolerable...
Hmm,
I think resale value dont consider it lar.. And this will be an ideal car..
Seriously in Singapore, no matter what brand or cars you buy, the resale value also so-so only.. all thanks to the C.O.E regulation..
And the recent world crisis played a part in reducing our car body value by another 50%..
Consider the "Buy High, sell Ok" and the "Buy Low, sell and dont expect too much" and you will a lot happier
I personally test drove all the variants of the Forte: 1.6EX (M), 1.6 SX(A), 2.0 SX(M) and i would say it's a steal for the price they offering.. At least Forte is a new face of Kia mah.. Avante in the market quite some time liao.. Why not pay the same price to buy something that is newer, looks nicer (Engine configuration totally same, share same chasis)
Then did u sign under the dotted line? ![]()
Hi,
I nearly did.. But after calculations, I will have to top up 30k to trade in my 2-year old Carens..
So i gave up the idea.. Was so tempted to get the Forte 2.0 SX (M) w/sunroof
![]()
Oh I see.... 30k is a lot man...
Yes bro.
That is a lot.. all thanks to the world crisis which reduced my body value to half.. or else top up about close to 20k only.
Of cos i can pay the 30k, but why not save the money for something else.. or even to downpay a new car?
Use 30k pay off car is not a wise choice...

Yea...better stick to your Carens... money are hard to earn these days...
Better to save as much as possible... ![]()
I understand that I should not complain about my FC on Carens as it is a very heavy MPV.
My wallet cannot tahan the petrol money... hahaha...
I never calculate all the petrol cost before i bought this car.. Cos my 1st car mah.. too excited liao.. No doubt it's spacious (at least better than Honda Steam), stable on highways..
But my Carens does not come in Manual Transmission and I don't really need an MPV, cos everytime I ferry my girlfriend all around only.. so the space is under-utilised.

Ok... at least you learn something from this...
Owning a car is not as simple as we think it is...![]()
Ya.. That's why i would advise those who cannot afford a car yet,
go rent car.. so that you can "retain" your driving skills.. Don't be like my aunt.. 10 + years never drive.. now dont even dare to drive...
Unless your dad pay your instalments, road tax or insurance ![]()
I used to rent for a couple of days before I drive as well... just miss driving after passing TP... lol...
kia koup coming out soon liao!

You are a brand whore!!
In the current economy, it pays to be a little more prudent..

Blame that car for rising COE prices... ![]()
the styling of the car is great,if the engineers can look into creating a more fuel-efficient car, that would be the best.
currently car fc is ard 10l/100km
Hmm... not very fuel efficient as I think it is....
10km/l is really nothing special.. In fact if it's the 1.6, that's considered bad..

Yea.... KIA can't be perfect in all aspects...

u have to keep in mind that, in SX guise at least, it has to move heavy 17" wheels.. It has to mean something..
