Driving an auto car....

  Help....!!! i have been driving for 4 years... but i never had an experience wif auto cars... maybe u guys can tell me more about drivin an other car... how diff is it...??? tried my fren's nissan sunny the other car... but seemed having difficulties changing the gear...???

  its tat funny stick which u pull to go in "Park," "Neutral," Drive" etc....
  haiz... couldnt find a better term 4 tat mah...

  gratified to see that another person has problems with an automatic transmission car
  
  but over the years, pretty okay with it already... use left foot for braking tho...
  
  friends look at me as if i was a lunatic... but they can't drive manual cars to save their lives...

  Actually its about the same, auto drivers have difficulties with manual, manual drivers have difficulties with auto or some others, professional in both, while some others, dunnoe how to drive..
  
  I drive a auto now. If you ask me to drive a manual, i think i will keep stalling for the first hour. haha.

  Auto cars are the easiest 2 drive... just step on the gas and let the transmission do the rest... well i do agree here... after driving a manual car 4 awhile u tend 2 get a bit uncomfortable... but it's all abt adaptation...thats wad all racers do wad... esp. in formula one..... But bottom line is tt auto is not tt good as there's abt 10% power loss or more due 2 the torque converter(autos dun use clutch) and u wun really have complete control over the car

  S is dropping gear so tat the car has more power to go faster. Just like normal manual car, u drop gear to accerlate. Commercial term S stand for Sport Mode.
  L is sort of like a engine / wheel brake. usually use on slope going down. Use tat if u dont wan ur car to go down too fast lor.
  
  Anyway, tat wat the sales lady told me when my dad bought the auto car this yr. But in S'pore rd, seldom u need to use S and L gear.

  In auto car, u dont use ur left foot. u use ur right foot for controling the braking and accerlating pedals. when i first drove the auto car, i also kum lan use left foot to brake.. den end up stepping it like a clutch.... car ma chiam e-brake. den kena scold by the passangers.
  
  as for why the switching of gear is so weird in auto car, it due to the safety aspect... when u are in P mode (parking), and u wanna change gear to R (reverse) / D (drive) mode, u usually have to step on the brake first den adjust the gear. It sort of some safety within the car. assume u left ur kid in the car, while u go elsewhere probably buy dinner? den the kid go switch ur gear.. imagine wat will happen?

  hahahha.... had my 1st driving experience wif an auto car...
  
  seems a lot easier to drive... but dun get the kick leh esp when accelerating....
  hmm... still prefers a manual car... gets the kick when u drop gear n drag... Vrooooom Vroooom.... hahahha....

  someone once told me u cannot leave left foot on the brake peddle because when u panic,u may end up pressing the peddle to metal,stomp the acclerator with yr right foot and the brake with yr left foot.
  
  then either car skid or engine stall then bye bye liaoz.
  
  dunno lah.i havent learn driving yet.
  
  anyway i took a look at my friend's driving test report. one of the mistakes he made was using the wrong gears. hmm.....
