I know Gtr's are 2.6litre infact from r32- r34 are 2.6litre (GTRs) fyi i own a gtr-r34 in aus...
I dont know if sgp's rx-8 spec is 1.3litre... maybe different... u can see the specs from the link above... coz WRX STi in the US is also different 2.5litre instead of 2litre and it produces 300hp... but power wise, rx-7 is around 280hp and rx-8 is about 241hp...(see the difference) about the torque thing.. "car with high kw/hp sells the car, car with high torque wins races..." read this phrase from a car magazine... juz hope that ppl that posts here respect other's comments..
We respect...
What that website trying to mean by 2.6 litre, is calculated based on 4 stroke engines.
The RX-8 1.3 litre rotary engine runs in 2 stroke, so if you calculate 4 stroke like a piston engine, it will be counted as 2.6 litre.
However, we cannot convert the RX-8 to 2.6 litre(not accurate). It is forever a 1.3 litre rotary engine.
The engine rock with 192hp/litre.
I don't think there are any N/A stock engine in this world that can compare with this.
Don't mention F1 engines.
I totally agree with you that torque is everything.
Torque is about acceleration.
Especially in Singapore stop and go traffic.
Horse power is nothing in Singapore.
But high horsepower will be very nice for attaining high speed.
Lightweight is god.
Lighter car means better handling, better acceleration, less overheating of engine.
No wonder some Civics in Singapore can trash Evo ass.
The comparison is unfair.
The Evo power can trash Civic at any time, but lost out to weight.
I think FIA should make a rule to grade race cars by weight instead of power.
