i didnt know i dio an immediate failure when i mounted a kerb. so i i happily drove my instructor out to the road as he instructed....
but yeah prob true, hardly any first timers will pass. and i think i have no reason to fail next round...
i realised my instructor also never taught me all...that includes learning how to park without the poles...etc etc....so i am changing a new instructor.
what are the criterias of selecting the best instructor?? by passing rate? or by friends' recommendation? anyone has got good instructors to recommend?? i think an ideal one at least must be really sincere in imparting knowledge and not so money-minded. -

I think driving test is juz a stage lor ... eventually you will pass one lah ... juz tat some spend more time and hence money becuz need to take more times ... Me failed twice, passed on the 3rd time ... hee
The first 2 times i fail i reallie scratch head lor .... dun understand how come i fail ... suay lah ... so 3rd time i juz bo chup ... learn a couple of times plus that morning practice then go 4 test liao ... den heng ah pass ... haha
As 4 wat kinda instructor u want ... hmmm ... i think most just teach u how to do the normal stuff lah ... i stuck wif one becuz used to him and his car liao loh ... lazy to change and adapt oso ... hee
But now that i reallie driving on the road, i realised i dunno many things lor like changing tyres ... maintaining cars etc ...
So despite passing still got many many things to learn ... heeeeheee -

drive sometimes on the road with my dad.. he can impart u damn lots of things.. advice to P Plate pple to drive ard with a seasoned driver b4 going out on ur own.. its helps alot.. -
i agree there are lots to learn even after passing the test. my dad has given me a lot of tips and i realised my instructor didnt teach me a lot too...
and abt the pole thing, i just hope that someone can go thru the techniques of going 'poleless'....u dun park with poles for life isnt it?
anyway i am just going to take revisions till my 2nd retest....i dun think i will mount the silly kerb again... -
hey relax dude .... mounting curb and all this you cannot improve by just taking other people advise, what you should really do is to get more practise and of course use your OWN JUDGEMENT not the instructer's judgement (screw his nagging)

As for parallel car ... i not very sure how to park oso ...
I just imagine got poles dere den use my judgement to park ... of course wif the help of the side mirrors lah ...
No worries lah ... unless u gonna drive a huge car like a merz or a lexus when u pass, u probably wun buang ur car when parking ... speed too slow to cause a buaning ...
Its more of judgemental errors in turning or panic tat u will buang ur car ... so juz stay kool !!! -

think u may want to tell your instructor (if u are taking private lessons) about your weakness ... than to practice more.
Else one thing I heard of is to
- register as private candidate and
- turn up for test with a small car ... easier ...

yup... my 1st and 2nd attemp.. i forgot 2 put on my seatbelt... n i drove.. until i reach outside.. then i found out i forgot 2 put on my seatbelt.. i laugh at the tester... kanna gt 2 demerit pts... sometimes during practice also never put on seatbelt... hehe... then the instructor scold... i just laugh at the instrutor...

aiyo i hav take my practical test for the 3rd time the 1st time coz i anyhw drive coz vehicle to take evast action 2x8pts and some here and there i fail the 2nd time i veri guai safty check is veri impt rem to do all safty check like b4 u move off check ur blind spot c got motor a nt and i eventually pass onli 8pts nw u ppl find it odd y 2nd time pass liao still need 3rd time rite lol. heres the answer la coz durin the one year probation xiao di wo veri playful like to chiong fast fast tio kantong loh lol. then i guai guai wait 1 year retake again tis time same thing la mus guai guai rite so check every blind spot b4 movin off on rd and in circuit most impt is to perfect ur circuit and save the point deduction on the rd and hence i pass wif 18pts deduction hee hee wif all the stupid speed too slow lol police r on high alert nw those wif new lic like mi again duh better guai guai don chiong like mi its juz nt worth it. haizz hav to repeat myself again those takin test one huh my advice is perfect ur circuit course and rem to do all safty check extra check no pts deduce one onli head tired hee hee when takin test stay calm don kan cheong spider take that freak tester as ur daily instructor loh

I took tp for six pathetic times over span of nearly 3 miserable years...
Took my advance theory twice cuz it expired... Extremely demoralising experience.
Don't give up. Just practice the road until you feel like lao jiao, cut lanes, u-turn, left,right turn like nobody's business.
Wrt circuit, don't book it everytime. Instead, you can save the time and money practicing parkings using your instructors poles, and after a while, make it eve tighter so you'll have to rely on your judgement even more. Practice man, but of course, my 4th and 5th time was killed by circuit cuz the latter was not done EDIT: and 2 of my previous testers were suspended due to complaints... so I I didn't have to please these jokers this time round -

Maybe I'm wrong, but normally for ladies, as long as they dress up properly and don't be too rough, its easily a pass.. I've heard testers helping correct oversteering and giving lots of short cuts

i also pass my driving test with one attempt but the irony is that i don't dare to drive on the road yet..............damn
but got one tip for candidates.......mummy told me to pick one stone from the road side & put in my pocket when taking driving tets. in that way you will not fear the tester. i did dat & pass on my 1st attempt with 18 pts
