ya, brakes beli important also. but only if u make a big horsepower upgrade or go racing. under such conditions, ur brakes muz be able to handle the xtra punishment and still deliver consistent braking efficiency.
dats y modding car so addictive and waste money. u do one thing, y gotta do another to match the new thing u added. vicious cycle man.![]()
hi..is the red 86 u found a Levin or Trueno? cos if it is a Trueno, i would like to meet the owner. Currently i know 3(plus me = 4) out of the rumoured 5 Truenos in Singapore.Originally posted by APEX_73:Hi Jiayong,
So the tofu 86 is yours. Seen you once near bouna vista MRT area. Your 86 is very well cared. May I ask if yours is a 5yr COE or 10yr COE? Becos recently I saw a red 86 and is reali interested but can only drive till 07 (5yrs COE). Hiaz, thought I can buy her and keep as a project car.
Any problem finding spare parts for your hachi rouku?
let u come? come where? which outing?Originally posted by bismarck:jiayong...u die die also must let me come...otherwise i spam yr HP number...
just kidding
thought u all got some outing dunno go where.Originally posted by jiayong:let u come? come where? which outing?
The red colour 86 is a Levin. Not a Trueno. Owner or ex-owner renewed the COE for onli 5 yrs. Sayang manz.Originally posted by jiayong:hi..is the red 86 u found a Levin or Trueno? cos if it is a Trueno, i would like to meet the owner. My car and the 3 others i know are all 10 yr COE cars. =) Spare parts hard to find locally, but if u got money...then spare parts not a problem. the 86 is so successful in japan that they are still rolling out new spare parts in Japan.
Things we cant find, we try to modify others. But personally i find rim the hardest to find...cos cant find these kind of offset anymore...so either buy from japan or go scrap yard find.
good luck to you. project car not really worth it lah...unless u can afford to tow it every where to race else in singapore..once a year at kallang...and some more sure lose wan lah...![]()
Hi,Originally posted by varisct9a:AE86,
6 years ago 2 of my friens use to drive Levins.
now both cars are in Car-heaven.
Its a great car to be frank, NA, FR and its light
but before "playing" with it, gota be sure that the car can support the "torture".
friend used to play in carparks doing all sorts of sideways/drift/fishtails though not 100% perfect, its still a beauty to watch the car go sideways.
That period was a torture to me, they kept pestering me for parts (i got contact from Japan), almost every 5month i bring in stuffs for their dears, from arms/struts/rims/gear ratio/LSD.....etc
the money spent was..... sufficient for me to support a new car.
After all the torturing.... they finally scrap the car togather with the parts. Believe they still have some good stuffs left for the car.
If any of you guys interested,
FRP hatch $650 (TRD cost $1.2k)
RS watanabe 14" rims $1K (1st hand cost $2.1k include shipping)
Visor for Levin/Trueno $380 (2 piece chrome visors)
20V silver top $1.8K
Tien HA coilover (the only Tien for ae86) 1st hand $4.6k, selling $2k
full rubber seals (NEW) $2.6k (change every single rubber in car)
FC brake callipers (front 2) gota modify the brackets, $600
TRD LSD (no idea 1.5 or 2 way) $1.4k
hi..=) yah...that is correct..if he possess a levin he can change a chasis imported from japan...heh...but in the first place..he have to have one. So those that are interested in the car but do not have the car...then it is not possible to import in right? cos the car will definitely be older than 3 yrs old and is not allowed by LTA to be registed for everyday use. =)Originally posted by johncooper:errr ... guys who are intersted in the AE86 Model ... if you guys are so willing to spend the money and looking forward to one .... you can actually import the car (EXCULDING the Engine) from Japan fresh from TRD workshop (If you do your homework). Engine wise ... good luck
My friends Dark blue Levin got his body change recently but is a bomb to pay ... he (after all) thinks its worth it ...

Thanks for your input. Do you mind pointing me to the dealer who is able to order TRD Ae86 chassis? I can't seems to find it on the web.... Thanks a million.![]()
