Hi ,
Does anyone here who drive suzuki ignis sports ????? i am very intersted in this pocket rocket , like everything abt it . Can anyone pls tell mi the pro and con of it , and also how much is its insurance and road tax . i am currently driving nissan presea , thought of selling it ... for a new suzuki ignis sport . thought of getting it in a weekend car , as i am self employed only evening then can go out with my wife.... tks .... -
A few of the readers here are driving this car. Maybe search for the other threads and continue from there which also mentioned on the Pros and Cons. But personally for me, the biggest 'con' is the 2 doors. Other than that, double ok.Originally posted by DennisTan:Hi ,

IS is 1.5L so road tax you can easily calculate minus ~100cc from your presea. Insurance presently not categorize as a Sport vehicle hence the normal car calculation apply but of course subjected to your age and past driving experiences... -

Tks for ur rply , yeah i agree with u dats its biggest con is its a 2 dr car . Heard its acceleration is rapid , hw true is it ???? Wat i have heard is from friends and magazine , didnt actually test drive it . Gald dat its insurance is base on nomal sedan or else it will cost a bomb . Btw u drivin ???Wat car if u do tks .. -
Actually how rapid is rapid is relatively for individual... some friends told me their Corolla/Civic is already picking up fast enough. Hence what we can say is that IS is fast enough for normal driving in SG... Go for a test drive lah and feel the power by tapping the gas pedal hard enough. I am driving the 1.6 sedan from the same manufacturer. Bought it 6 months earlier before the launch of the IS... Maybe i would have bought it then

Hi,sirlee here.Perhaps i can share something wif u regarding ignis sports,
1.Roadtax:$868 per year
2.Issurance:$1600(under my dad's name n its under coupe's class)
3.Fuel consumption with minium grade of fuel - 98 (abt 12.8-1.3.5km/L)
If u pump V power, the FC is higher,ard 12.4-12.6km/l.
Cons:
1. Only 2 drs
2.Hard suspension-basically u feel most of the things on the road.
3.small boot space.
4.No auto lock features.
5.Not much after markets products...
Pros:
1.Gd acceleration, 0-100km/h in 8.9sec.
2.Very responsive,Close gear ratio.Though @ 100kmlh the rpm is abt 3400k,n 120km/h is abt 4000k the FC is still quite ok.
3.Comes with Enkei sports rims,sports tuned suspension n exhaust.High profile cams..
4.Quite stable @ the spd of 150km/h, wont feel 'Floaty" as the car is quite light 935kg.
I thought tis is a pretty cool car to play wif.Hope this help u...

Tks sirlee for ur comments, i am currently driving a presea , wanted to sell it off for a suzuki ignis sport , since i am self employed , normally the only time i have to go out is during evening time , so i am thinking of getting it with weekend plate , do they allow sis for weekend plate ???? pls advice mi , tks ...Btw how much cheaper will it be if its weekend plate , sorry i am really not into cars so hopefully u could advice mi , tks agn

regarding the auto lock function.. i check it out with some of my relatives n friends.. actually most of the 04 face-lift version cars doesn't comes with auto lock.. except for those luxury versions.. my sis n my cousin's honda stream doesn't come with the auto lock function too .
any comments bout my qns of whether is it not good to ram the car over 4krpm or 120km/hr when it haven't reach a mileage of 1000km. pls advise..

tks for all those reply guys !!!! just went to champion motor website , request for a brochure , but theres an error to it . I have seen alot of ppl comparing yrv to sis , personally haven really test drive both , if both care at the stop line which would u think will win on pick up ????

while we are at it SIS resale/scrap/depreciation value are relatively worse than say toyota and many with similar price range.This is another disadvantage u cant ignore.
But I am a SIS driver and am lurving it... -

Even after the first service i didnt redline my car.I rev till 4000rpm after 3000km n redlined my SIS (@ 4500km) to 6400rpm....it wheelspined!feeling is damn shoink!!!!
Actually i wanted to redline @ 5000km but cant resist the temptation...
