I suspect is the O2 sensor faulty but last week i went to N2CS to do a tuning, they say it will help to imp my fuel consumption n horsepower.I felt the hp increase but the mileage decrease. The mechanic also told me to change one of the chip in my ECU to further imp the fuel consumption. Is it true?
Will installing VAFC improve the fuel economy by adjusting the air/fuel ratio?
Does it help much or slight?
Normal if you're the type that rams your accelerator to the floor unnecessarilyOriginally posted by no_speeding:Naaaa...its normal lah.
nothing is wrong with ur car.
I really do not think so. My neighbour has one and to achieve 8km/ltr is a tall order.....very gentle and uninspiring driving according to him.Originally posted by HENG@:i think an EVO does better on the FC...
Hmmm.... maybe its your driving style? Can't say for sure cause I odn't know you or how you drive. I know several other people who had the same problem you're facing though.Originally posted by D16Z6:Ah Kiong is the one who told me to change the chip in my ECU but i have doubt in him coz after tuning my car burns more fuel.Maybe he juz wana earn $.How to define cold and hot plug? How do i noe if my car need hot or cold plug?
I used to drive a 2000 civic vti and I installed VAFC. It gives you a very nice drive in terms of power. You can actually tune the Vtec kick in and stuff but it does not help in FC. My full tank can only hit bout 300km. I think your FC is very normal.Originally posted by D16Z6:Hi to all.Iam currently drivinr a ESI and what bothers me is that it seems

The mechanic tld me to change gear at 3,500 for fuel saving.Originally posted by Bloop...:Hmmm.... maybe its your driving style? Can't say for sure cause I odn't know you or how you drive. I know several other people who had the same problem you're facing though.
After their cars were tuned, it burnt fuel faster. Turns out that because the cars were tuned and smoother, they rammed down harder on their accelerators without feeling the "roughness" that was there before the tuning. If you did that you won't get optimum performance anyway... you'll just be wasting fuel.
What plugs are you using? Spark plugs have ratings, you need to get the correct rating for your car.
Hmmm... sounds like it could be your driving technique. An Esi should be able to change gears cleanly at about 3500 rpms. Changing at 2500, your fuel/air mixture could be a little rich if you try to push the car a little.Originally posted by D16Z6:The mechanic tld me to change gear at 3,500 for fuel saving.
But i find the fuel meter goes down faster so i stick to my old 2,500 gearshift.
Hey bro ya serious???2,500 gearshift has an over rich air/fuel ratio compare to 3,500 on ESI???If its true i had better change my driving habit.Originally posted by Bloop...:Hmmm... sounds like it could be your driving technique. ??? Read a little more - "If you try to push it". Normal driving at low speeds is fine. If you try to go faster and change at 2500 RPMs what's going to happen?Originally posted by D16Z6:Hey bro ya serious???2,500 gearshift has an over rich air/fuel ratio compare to 3,500 on ESI???If its true i had better change my driving habit.
Anybody driving the same car or has some knowledge in this pls advise
Think Bloop is correct. My friend drives a SIR and he did mentioned that the sweet spot was at about 3500 rpms, too low and the engines gets a little boged down....bad for fuel economy.Originally posted by Bloop...:I'm driving my 3rd Vtec now. I had an EH9 Esi, then an EG9 Vti and now an EG2 Del Sol with a B16B engine.
I currently change gears at about 3800 rpms and I get 13.5km/l. Just trying my best to help from what little experience I have.Simply areas you could look into, that's all.
S'alright.Good luck with your fuel consumption. Honda makes good cars, hope you find out what's wrong with yours.
