Well, actually I never owned a Honda before but that came from my buddy. U could be right, but actually 3500 not too high for a VTEC screamer leh..............Originally posted by Handgunner:Are u sure, I think 3500rpm is a bit too high, Last time, I always ram my car till 3000++ to shift gear and my tank reach the E point within 300Km... Now I always change gear at around 2500 to 3000 and I mange to get 360Km... I really not very sure how to cal how many Km/L but I test it out quite a few times liao....Mine is a 98'SIR.....Got wife and kid now so seldom ram now...
So u r into Vtec enginesOriginally posted by Bloop...:I'm driving my 3rd Vtec now. I had an EH9 Esi, then an EG9 Vti and now an EG2 Del Sol with a B16B engine.
I currently change gears at about 3800 rpms and I get 13.5km/l. Just trying my best to help from what little experience I have.Simply areas you could look into, that's all.
S'alright.Good luck with your fuel consumption. Honda makes good cars, hope you find out what's wrong with yours.
Think it will be for 1st through 4th. 5th gear normally used for cruising so not so crucial, from 4th to 5th normally not that much acceleration but for better FC and a little more top end?Originally posted by D16Z6:So now is 2 against 1 on 3,500 gearshift is better than 2,500.I should give it a try.Actually juz now on my way hm i did try already after pumping petrol.Hope it does help.Is 3,500 gearshift for every gear or only for lower gearshift or vice-versa?![]()
My buddy was using 15-inch rims.....said it gave him better acceleration.Originally posted by D16Z6:Anybody had tried before driving a 16 inch rims and 15 inch rims and compare the mileage? Is difference alot or only a bit?![]()
Mine is worse.....8.75KM/L.....thats very bad....maybe cos the engine is underpowered...tts y need 2 rev more 2 get the power outOriginally posted by D16Z6:Hi to all.Iam currently drivinr a ESI and what bothers me is that it seems
like drinking water. Abt 8.9km/litre.Anybody has any idea wat is the problem?
I suspect is the O2 sensor faulty but last week i went to N2CS to do a tuning, they say it will help to imp my fuel consumption n horsepower.I felt the hp increase but the mileage decrease. The mechanic also told me to change one of the chip in my ECU to further imp the fuel consumption. Is it true?
Will installing VAFC improve the fuel economy by adjusting the air/fuel ratio?
Does it help much or slight?
So wat car do ya drive??Originally posted by AE86tofu:Mine is worse.....8.75KM/L.....thats very bad....maybe cos the engine is underpowered...tts y need 2 rev more 2 get the power out
his is the X-Trail 2.5l. I've driven his car. I doesn't feel underpowered, and the response when u step hard on the accel is like any auto car's. The problem, i think is not about revving too high. The engine settings have been changed many times by his father before, so much so that to pinpoint the exact problem is difficult at best.Originally posted by D16Z6:So wat car do ya drive??
Ever tought of how to improve it?![]()
