The British colonialists may have created the caste system (in a divide-and-conquer strategy), but the Indian politicians and population (at least those who subscribe to it, which are naturally the 'higher castes' who exploit and abuse the caste system, such as the 8 murderers in the article below) are themselves guilty of now propagating and perpetuating the unethical caste system, long after the British colonialists have gone.

[Singapore] - KTV Hostess’ Eyeball Pops Out after Colleague Stomps Into Her Eye with Stiletto Heel 3 Times, making her permanently blind in one eye, and partially blind in the other.
The victim felt the heel hit her eyelid twice before the heel went into her eye, causing her eyeball to pop out. She was heard exclaiming: "I cannot see, I cannot see!"
The victim was conveyed to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where she underwent treatment for the injury. Her left eye was removed and an orbital (fake eye) implant done.
She was found to have sustained a left eye permanent blindness and right eye temporal hemianopia which means she can see only the nasal part of her visual field.
