SINGAPORE: Three lucky SMRT taxi drivers had a truly unexpected reunion dinner on Saturday.
They were honoured by the company for their sacrifice on important dates such as the eve of the Lunar New Year.
When 47-year-old Lim Choy Ann picked up his passenger, little did he know he was in for a big surprise.
Upon arriving at his passenger's destination - the Singapore Flyer, Mr Lim was greeted by his family.
Mr Lim is one of three drivers treated to a sumptuous reunion dinner in the Flyer's rotating cabins.
They also received a red packet from Coca-Cola Singapore to cover their earnings and the day's taxi rental fee.
He said: "Initially I thought we were going to a regular eatery, who would have thought we would be going to such a posh place."
Senior executive for Public Affairs and Communications at Coca-Cola Singapore, Tiffany Goh said: "This Chinese New Year, we really want to bring some smiles and happiness to a group of unsung heroes who ply our streets tirelessly every day, even today on Chinese New Year's eve. So, we're really glad to be able to surprise them with this unexpected reunion dinner tonight."

He said: "Initially I thought we were going to a regular eatery, who would have thought we would be going to such a posh place."
From the statement above, you can tell that the cabbies were somewhat informed of the event, it's just that they were not told of the actual place that the event is taking place.
And the surprise were the dinner venue, not the dinner date itself.

This 2 sentences I'm talking about, I'm curious how to swee swee picked up this "passenger"?.......On call? Advance booking? Street hired?, even with all this possibility, also must depend on Uncle me, whether want to pick up or not..........LoL
Is a good gesture by SMRT, but don't sound until like real surprise, because we TD know that is not easy and almost impossible to achieve that..........
maybe he got this time machine that can travel between time and space.
All kelong one lah!!!! CCB last night Stevie G penalty can be saved by Foster? Give lim peh kick also can go in lah....$&%#&@#

Simple in my humble opinion . . . . . . .
Mr Lim is already know that he is getting this treat but the venue is not disclosed to him.
SMRT tells him to go pick up this "passenger" who will guide him to the destination for his "reward/reunion" dinner. There are so many restaurants at the Flyer.
The big surprise was the dinner was the dinner was actually having his dinner in such
a posh place which is The Flyer Cabin.
Cheers, Khong Hee Fatt Choy to all the members here.
@ hammer - that was mighty good save by a ex-United goalkeeper.
Ben Foster was always a good shot stopper, he won United the League Cup or Charity Shield with some heroic penalty saves in the shoot out a few seasons ago, against Chelsea me thinks.

Marketng and advertising ideas is always full of loop hole, but this 1 is really big boo boo........Senior Exec Ms Tiffany can go fly kite, no wonder their corp comm director no eye to see.........LoL
Must see the full report than can comment further, my take is this.........
SMRT already chosen 3 super kwai TD from their list, Coca Cola rehearse them with all the schedule plan, reporters, journalist will be waiting at Sg Flyers for the grand finale..........
Family members will be ferry to Sg Flyer and wayang there.........
All the TD and the so call "passenger" gather at SMRT office, despatch at different time to Sg Flyers..........
The rest of the story.........you know, I know loh.........
