another place u can go to is sushi tei
i think it's better quality and they have more "authentic" jipoon food
I had so many lunches at Sakae Sushi at Harbourfront with my junior until sianz. Almost everything try liaoz. Teppanyaki is not bad. I prefer their teppanyaki to their sushi.
I also tried sushi tei. Decor-wise more elegant and better ambience. Less noisy.
Had dinner last night at the Raffles City Branch. Decor real nice.
Food, companion had cold soba with deep fried prawns ($10)
I had soba in hot soup with beef ($10)
We shared a 18 pc sushi plate ($12)
We shared a Salmon belly soup ($6)
Had green tea ice cream ($2.50)
sesame ice cream ($2.50)
Prices-wise, comparable with sakae. Ambience-wise, better than Sakae. However, must commend that the bowl of beef soba isn't as nice as the one I had in their Holland Village branch. Standard differs at times I guess
My take is, you want a more elegant and quieter surrounding, go Sushi Tei.
