  Hee the first year I went after your recommendation, the Chin Swee Road shop was busy and the shelves and outside the shop were fully-packed with bags of customers' orders!
  
  Do you have the address of the Commonwealth bakery? It miiiiiiight be convenient for me to pop down there to buy this year.

  I went down the other day to Mui Lee wanted to buy the moon cakes but the person said don't have.
  
  I'm not sure if he is referring to currently don't have or they don't sell. Any I bought their sweet bean biscuit @ $2, very big and full of filling. Very nice as it is freshly handmade in the shop.

  they're very traditional... they will make the stuff for 14 days in the year.. the 14 days before the mid autumn festival.. they'll start making the thing on the 1st day of the lunar month.. and will stop one day before the mid-autumn festival
  
  so be patient...

  home made mooncakes are better. The mooncakes outside are too commercialised... and they're usually made months before, and vacum packed so they're not fresh...

  The bakery near my place sells sugarless mooncakes, but they still cost more than those made with sugar.

  nowadays the normal mooncakes the skin like not very nice oledi...some are too dry and thick...

  D one i prefer is known as LONG FATt(can't really rem d name), its auite a run down coffee shop located towards d end of balestier road towards thomson direction. this shop only sell sweet n salty tau sar pia.
  
  there's another famous one @ balestier, think is House of tau sar pia, got alot of variety, like coffee, yam, durain, pineapple etc... located beside ESSO petrol station.
