I'd recommend going to Pow Sing Chicken Rice at serangoon garden. There not bad.

Damn pissed off when the waiter served the food at the wrong table (suppose to be the table next to mine) and still dare to ask me to take the soup from his tray by myself. WTH.. and still insisted that it's mine when I told him it's not. He don't even have the courtesy to apologise when he realised his mistake.
So it's not bcos of the crowd lor..

best chicken rice in the area is at sia im hawker. the chinese stall in the middle. got f/f soup some more..

we haven decide whether to eat there and they hurried us to go in. -
I heard its horrible, their food & service. Definitely not my cuppa tea...

Customers are always important to the restaurant. Infuriating a customer on the spot is not a very good sight. Muahahaha! -

I also kinda got fooled by the picture on the menu lor.
The fishballs look like those teochew fishballs (with meat inside) in the picture, and when they serve the fishballs... no meat inside and the fishballs are so small. And the bean sprout taste raw too. Damn..it's not worth the price la. -

Bean sprouts is my fav veggie lor!
But we did not finish that plate of bean sprouts.
overall, very sucky lah.

That chicken rice i was there many months ago with someone in here. I never go so you go...I see... 
You know the Balestier Loy Kee, food so so abit expensive. Boon Tong Kee also not that pricey. Whampoa Market Chicken Rice nice too. Another one is at Bishan Kim San Leng Kopitiam opposite the Bishan community centre & Olio dome, food ok just long queue abit over-rated. -

We start eating the tao hu then realize it's with oyster sauce de, but actually we ordered one that is without oyster sauce. One steamed tao hu with oyster sauce cost $5 ok. Lagi expensive.
I totally did not enjoy the food at all....
Always best to complain after your food has been served.

And I wonder if, as is mentioned above, the service staff and/or management is foreign?
Coz to have service standards that are so low in a relatively pricey place is quite surprising.
