not all stores serve with pink sauce and peanuts..and the bee hoon should be darker, dryer
If I'm not wrong, the chestnut is stuffed in a yellow layer which looks like egg omelette, but it tastes sweet - I don't like.Originally posted by TehJarVu:got water chestnut, got yam de meh?

My mum makes very good ngoh hiang (ingredients: fish, meat, chestnut, onion and prawns) - I ate so many till I put on weight !!

I like the Ngoh Hiang at the corner coffee shop at Armenian Street (Ang Peng Siong's favourite as well). When the old man was running the stall, it was even better. But now the one who takes over has introduced beehoon when there was none before. He added a nice touch to the beehoon by adding dried ikan bilis. But I still long for the kind of beehoon where they spread it on a weaver basket and warm it with steam from below. Very rare now.Originally posted by snobbish:Anyone loves this yummy dish? Will try it soonOriginally posted by rane:Thanks for your reply. The ngoh hiang at maxwell hawker centre was recommended by TV. Used to be the father who sold the ngoh hiang , now the son took over. My neighbour tried it and told me it is very nice.
Okie. Let us know if it is really that nice. That day I when I was there I did not have the chance to eat at all because the hawker centre was closed for cleaning. Sigh!! It's the ponytail man (son of old man) who is taking care of the stall now!Originally posted by snobbish:Will try it soon![]()
