hey, dude, sounds like the teochew kueh you are talking about. Is it something triangular in shape? I saw a kueh like what you described in food centre and on TV. It is a traditional kueh by teochew. Not sure we are talking about the same thing. It is can be fried and non fried, it's oily, beans are black or dark brown. Some months back it was shown on TV on the making of this kueh by a teochew parent and daughter.

She says its just called tur kah kun or gun...
no pics on google. if i see it at my next market trip i will buy and take picture and EAT. ![]()
