Few years back, we get those $2 meals e.g. Nasi Lemak, Chicken Rice, Mixed Rice. Just a few years later, food prices went up.. meal at $3 or $3.50 is considered cheap. I found out my area have this weird food place (it's not really considered a coffeeshop nor a stall), it sells Nasi Lemak and Chicken Rice.
$1.50 Chicken Rice
$1.80 Lemon Chicken Rice
$2 Nasi Lemak
I see quite a few people eating everyday.. Will you not? Or would you rather pay more($2.50) for the "normal" chicken rice?
is it Halal??
I doubt so tho..
where is this place?
Why not? But the food, is it very little?
how abnormal is the chicken rice?

haha there was once my friend ate that the Duck Rice stall opp. Bugis's OG, 1 plate duck noodle, $3. The duck meat was pathetic the very first time he ate there. So the 2nd time he went there again, thinking $3 portion is pathetic, he told the guy to "add duck meat". Turn out the plate of duck noodles were not of much difference from the $3 portion. WORST, It was $6!!! Like that addition few pieces (4,5?) of duck meat cost $3?!
I was telling him, I rather he order to separate $3 portions would be much more than the $6 "add duck meat" portion..
Some uncles or aunties think we LOOK like kids, try to scrooge and be stingy about the portions and price.
Well my place still has that $1 chicken rice... If 1 plate not enuff get 2 plate... Ask for xtra rice if not full... ![]()
You guys dun know got free rice and curry in little india? You guys can go there if you are really that desperate to save a buck or two...
It seems most of your recommendations are far in the East....
Any cheap stuff in the West?

well, duck is more expensive than Chicken. so it is not an apple to apple comparison.
you can try the one at bishan st 11, Kim San Leng's coffeeshop just beside bus interchange, it is still priced @ 2.5, but the quantity has not diminished.
And naturally, there is a long queue for it.
