Hi guys,
I miss HK dimsum and food and found SG is lacking in cheap and good HK cuisine anyone cares to point out any good and cheap food here?
Old Hong Kong Restaurant, Novena Square 2
I am afraid to say no to your question. YOu start the hong kong food business to provide cheap hong kong food, we will support you
HK food is good but too oily maybe SG can find a niche to start a trend towards healthier and tasty HK food :)

Most nice food are oily, what you expect???
In a programme on dim sum, it was stated large amount of oil is used to prepare dim sum. If your concern is oiliness then you will not get to enjoy the taste of food.

I was surprised to find out about the amount of oil they use. Sometimes if we want to enjoy good food , I just simply put this aside.

I ‘ll reckon the dim sum at Red Star is excellent!
Goodwood Park Hotel’s White Rose Cafe also serves wxcellent dim sum!
If red star is excellent, then peach garden would be mind blowing.

dim sum at Red Star is overrated. dim sum there taste like any dim sum in food centre and the service is very very bad and lousy.

Red star is lousy , don't waste time going there. I rather recommend the Swee Choon dim sum than Red Star.

I got recommendation from many to go and give Red Star a try. After trying I was very disappointed, that was my first and last time there. Money not well spent and the service sucks. Taste is below restaurant rating. They should just change name to Red Star Coffee Shop or Food Centre .
If people go red star for nostalagia, I believe. If they say they go for the food, I say fark them.![]()

Yes the place is nostalgic but somehow it is kind of lacklustre kind of nostalgic atmosphere, this kind does not appeal to me.
