if you do the other way you will get weird looks :D

weally... but i still feel it's a matter of personal preference :\
i tend to break off chunks but if the scone can be split nicely lengthwise without using a knife then that's what i do
anyway today there was a sale at breadtalk and the bread was flying off the shelves, so i managed to get some really piping hot buns
