Never ever try Fiesta. They claim to be "authentic Japanese cuisine" in the stupid ad shown on CNA, but actually they're one of the worst-tasting restaurants around. It shouldn't even be called Japanese cuisine.
Sushi Tei is indeed better than Sakae Sushi, but a little expensive. Sakae Sushi is not bad, and it should be a good choice if you have a budget to consider.
There are other sushi buffets, such as the Gapz at that building where China Black is. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
But that one is sort of a fusion between dim sum and sushi. -

I am the new comer... I recommend this sushi shop at international building (next to thai embassy) 2nd floor which services sushi buffet at the counter bar!
Owner cum chef is a japanese. Price is $29+++ for lunch and $39.90 for dinner.
Lunch is from 12 to 3 pm and dinner is 6 to 10 pm.
Many kinds of variety sushi is available... better than sushi tei, genki sushi i dare to say

Try Honjin, at Robinson Road, opposite SIA Bldg ... price abt $27++ I think ... absolute free-flow of sashimi, tempura, unagi, sushi etc ... quite value for money ...

This outlet is opened by the former Maru Maru Sushi at Marina Square (yes, they have relocated). However, it is now more upmarket i.e. no belt sushi and instead, they serve you over the counter when u make orders. You can order sushi by pieces (even one piece) and there is a wide range of toppings to choose from including ikura, nama hotate, hamachi and puffer fish. For unagi and anago, they actually heat up the sushi before serving. Only one serving of assorted sashimi will be served. Most importantly, the rice for the sushi is freshly moulded by the chef upon order. Not those machine made ones. The size is smaller (bite-size) and taste much better. It is not cheap but the quality is certainly better than any of those $1.90, belt-type sushi with machine made rice balls. yos to all out there... u guys can try KUISHIN BO at suntec tower 1.. the japanese food there really good... its on the 4th level next o COURTS , its alittle expensive .. $30+++ but its worth the price... its a japo buffet.. notthing more.. but sushi leaves me drooling for more...

the paper steamboat thing oso nothing fantastic in terms of taste...
tempura and soft shell crab oso not nice....and small oso....
