Sushi Tei is indeed better than Sakae Sushi, but a little expensive. Sakae Sushi is not bad, and it should be a good choice if you have a budget to consider.
There are other sushi buffets, such as the Gapz at that building where China Black is. Can't remember the name for the life of me.
But that one is sort of a fusion between dim sum and sushi.

hm...sakura buffet not bad, got oyster. hm, sakae is great too. Genki i tried before but it is not buffet, still not bad...

my opinion is that it is not worth to eat those machine made sushi or by plate colour at those genki, sake or sushi tei.
I went to those b4 but after eating handmade sushi, i will never go and eat at those restaurant ever cos i am a big eater and i find that the $ i pay is almost the same when it comes to per piece yet has better quality!
Do your own sums and you will understand what i am saying

i tink sakae and suki sushi is good.. haven tried others b4.. it's quite value for money.. if u get pay-per-plate not worth it for big eaters.. but then again.. too much of it spoils my appetite for de day.. my gf always grumble i eat too much =p
budget japanese food at tampines rovers.. SUMO HOUSE the sushi aren't that good though.. affordable price.. no buffet -

Go try Hanabi at King's Arcade, along Bukit Timah Rd.
Great value for $$ . $30++ for dinner buffet. Sushi is fresh. Must also try their prawn tempura.
