i think i will leave it open to the floor to suggest what can be done to prevent unauthorised access to the photos. but sincerely i tell u, if it's in digital format on the web, there is NO SURE WAY to ensure this. i can put all the passwords i can think off to access the site, but all u need is someone with a password to d/l the photos and send it out, or even blatantly give the password away, and there's ur security breach.

digital signatures only work if i can ascertain the photo that an unauthorised user has. then i can find out who it originated from. but prevention is better than cure. wat can i/we do when we find out the photos are in unauthorised hands? too late by then isn't it?

i've had a PM regarding the group photo in my signature. it is clear enuff to see clear faces of everyone? yeah of course they are clear if u've seen them, u can guess who's who. otherwise, how u gonna know who's who? even enlarged, it's so pixelated.

that's alway the case ... so we got to think of a way to prevent unauthorise sending of pics ... but how are we going to do it in a way whereby everyone get to view the pics and not those who did not attend the BBQ ???

how bout this?
the fotos are posted online (view in browser)
and for those whom attend the outing, they are given a login_id and login_pw to access the site. the login id & pw is only limit to one entry? We can further improve the security by logging the login in with the IP address which is first access to the site? (Correct me if singnet, pac net Broadband user do no have a fix ip addr)

so when the user is in the site, he/she can view and right click to save watever pics he/she wan. But once he/she get log out, then it too bad lor. hahaha! And finally is up to individual users whether they will practise the rules of the photo-controling.

oh yes. i noe wat i suggest required lots of programming skills! haha! dont kill me for suggesting!

why dont we 'watermark' the photos we send out? like for example, one particular person receive his fotos containing the unique watermark or bar code or watever assigned to him, then if we see another site or wat hosting this pic with that water mark assign to this forumnite..bingo! Laughing

in anyway, it would be costly and not feasible

the onus is on everyone to take responsibilit for the pics...

i onli scared people who dont like me will use my pics and throw darts on it... Laughing
