It IS illegal to eat on the train. Therefore, i believe it is not the law-abiding commuters who are unreasonable; there is absolutely nothing wrong with telling them to stop eating on the train. As long as they dont spill crumbs on the floor, I dont see anything wrong with that. Sometimes, commuters can be so unreasonable. I believe that the purpose of introducing a No eating rule is bcos SMRT got fed up cleaning the trains. But if every commuter plays their part, I dont see a reason for banning eating and drinking on the train. Just clear the mess you made. -
